Tokyo is a lovable soul who likes to chase things. One day when he was trying to chase butterflies he fell from the first floor. He was very lucky to have his life spared but ended up with broken bones. The fracture was causing him chronic pain and lameness. The X-ray revealed femur fracture. Casting was not preferable in such cases and we at Tejas Petcare chose to perform fracture repair surgery.

Femur Fractures are the most common long bone fractures and in such cases, Intramedullary pinning is the quickest and cheapest form of fracture repair available. IM pins improve fracture stability by significantly reducing local strain at the fracture site.

Within Hours After Surgery Tokyo was up and exploring things around. His complete healing took around 7 weeks. Dogs are tough and they have to be restricted from running around in the initial days after surgery.

Chinamma (a 6-year-old Indie dog) was brought to our notice by residents of tadepalligudem. She was suffering from a huge tumor in her Mammary glands. Unable to walk she was dragging her saggy glands. She is a tiny little soul with a huge burden on her breasts. Tears welled up from our eyes after seeing her painful situation. She must have been through a vicious cycle of delivering enormous puppies every year, that brought her into this torturous situation. We at Tejas petcare have performed surgery to remove the tumor weighing almost 6kgs. We felt a sense of relief in her eyes after surgery and she thanked us with her wagging tail.

Female dogs go through immense suffering. Every year they bring to life new puppies, only to be shattered to see them dying due to lack of food or getting crushed under vehicles. The only plausible solution to this is Spaying. Spaying averts the risk of cancers in female dogs as well as protects them from delivering unwanted puppies. we urge everyone to sterilize strays around you.

Dog eyes capture our hearts. we can't help but be drawn in by those cute eyes. sometimes a red bump appears in the corner of the eye and our heart skips for a moment. The condition is called cherry eyes.
Sam (Beagle) was brought to us with the cherry eye condition. There are 2 ways to deal with the condition. In the Old method, the pr*****ed gland is removed. But we at Tejas pet care use the Morgan pocket technique, whereby a new pocket is created for the tear gland ( as this method preserves the important function of tear production).we performed surgery on sam and recovery took less than a few days. Sam is now back to her job of melting her parents' hearts.

Brownie was brought to us with a broken foreleg. He was beaten up by some miscreants. He was crumbling in pain and could barely walk. The x-ray confirmed a fractured bone. Immediately casting was done to minimize the damage. Within a month, brownie was back to his carefree self chasing his happiness . Future is rosy for him as we took utmost care of him. Being a vet, it amazes me how resilient and forgiving these animals are, though beaten up by the same humans they let me treat them and nurture them. How can humans be so ruthless ? What joy can it bring by beating a dog? Next time you see someone treating these tiny little souls badly, stand up for them.
