We are a Registered Charitable Trust, based in Vagona, Cola Canacona South Goa. We are open between 10am till 12.30 & 4-6pm.
We initially started out with a small animal shelter/clinic in Cola, helping the local stray dogs and cats from the Agonda and Cola areas. We moved to a purpose built animal shelter in Vagona, Cola on a beautiful cashew plantation, where the dogs have much more freedom in their natural habitat away from residential areas, and the traffic on the busy roads. We are open daily except Saturdays as we

This sweet mama with two kittens was brought into our shelter, because she was at an unsafe place! Brendy introduced the three litter kittens, we already had here brought in from julie in north goa. They were all slowly introduced to the mama🐈 cat. And She accepted them all! It's important, that all the kittens have this mama for comfort. she can also teach them good cat manners too!

However, despite the creation of a vaccine all those years ago, rabies still causes unimaginable pain and suffering today.
It has devastating effects on human health, animal health, livelihoods, and economies. A person dies of rabies every 9 minutes.
It is vital that we take action to create a safer world.
The good news… rabies is 100% vaccine preventable! 💉
By taking a approach, we can protect both people and animals from the devastation of rabies.
As 99% of human rabies cases are caused by an infected dog bite, we mass vaccinate dogs to keep communities safe!

This is Akshay at work, our Vetinery Assistant at Asa Clinic! This dog was brought in with a wound full of maggotts and his tail ripped off😥 After pics show the dog has healed well and now ready to go home. He was also castrated whilst he was in treatment with us.

This sweet girl was abandoned in Betul (near Velim). A restaurant owner took pity on her and has been feeding her. He contacted us for help as he was worried she would have puppies. Today, she was picked up and taken to ASA Animal Shelter Agonda/Cola where she will be sterilised and vaccinated 🐾🐕
Although our main focus is on the stray dogs of velim fishing jetty, we are happy to help the local community too. Sterilisation saves lives and leads to a reduction in puppy abandonment. It is important to grow support for our work if we are to change attitudes and perceptions towards the dogs that roam and live on our streets...

This owned dog from a local family, was brought into our clinic a week ago. His ears were full of maggotts. After treatment from brendy, the owners picked up the dog and today he was taken home with his ear all nicely healed!

This dog has now been released after spending a period of recovery at our Asa clinic. Ref post may 7th. He was picked up at New Common home with the help of one of the staff there. We rescued him, due to a leg injury which has now healed. We also neutered him, whilst he was in treatment with us. Now he has recovered he looks so much better and happy to be free again! He will be fed with the other dogs during monsoon by our community feeder siddesh.

A big Thank🙏🏼you to Alexander, and locals helping asa to catch this badly wounded dog with maggotts. A trap cage was set up and the dog was caught. It was quite a game, to find this dog and get him treated and medicated. Community help always makes a difference!🙏🏼🙏🏼
This lovely sweet dog was seen hanging around the shelter about 3 days ago! When approached he ran away. Then found soaked and very hungry, under the van next morning. So the staff coaxed him inside for some food and dried him off. He seems quite happy right now no wounds or injuries. Just a case of being abandoned!
Update on 7 pups rescued! All maggots, and flyeggs now gone after brendy treated them all. Here they are on their heated pad after their bottle feeds. All pups doing well.
ASA Animal Shelter Agonda/Cola we found three babies that had been reported to us by a local shop owner in cola! We picked them up fed them cleaned them up and deflead them then treated their wounds. Brendy put them on a warm up pad as they were wet cold and crying when they were picked up. After a couple of hours we got another call from the same local saying that there were pups now another 4 babies! We went straight away and brought them back to asa clinic where they were also treated fed and put with their siblings on the warm heat pad. One of the smallest babies did not make it! Please pray and send you good thoughts for the other six little ones. They will be fed every few hours by brendy despite her running the shelter she will feed these during the night until they are stable.
And another boy for Abc's, straight up to Asa clinic from the beach in agonda! After a few days after his operation and recovery he will then be released back to his beach pack.

Poor rottweiler abandoned! Tied to a tree near asa in the jungle. An eye full of maggotts and so thin. Thankfully brendy found him. After treating the maggott wound, and meds were given, this lovely boy ate very well. He is now resting and safe at our shelter.

This gorgeous dog was brought into Asa clinic by this kind carer. She is having some skin issues, and so we will treat her and steralize her too. She will be released after recovery!
These two little pups, were dumped near the shelter but after a good feed, clean up deflead 🦋🐶🦋 dewormed and cuddles🐕 they soon settled down as part of our asa family!
Always feels so good to release the female dogs we caught last week for sterilisation back to their territory. There will definitely be less puppies at the south end of the beach now 💖 We are trying our best to operate on as many strays as we can.
