Meet Yoda, the Miracle Survivor!

Rescued from a rural area 40 km away from Chennai, Yoda’s story is one of resilience and hope. This poor pup arrived with a devastating maggot injury on his forehead, which had already begun to eat away at his face and threaten his eyesight.

We were racing against time to save Yoda’s eyes, but thankfully, our timely intervention and expert care helped him pull through.

After a painstaking process of removing the maggots and providing intensive care, Yoda spent three weeks under our watchful eyes. And what a transformation!

Today, Yoda is unrecognizable from the pup we first met. His wound has healed, and his sparkling eyes shine bright once more.

We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of love and support that helped Yoda recover. Thank you to every single person who contributed to his care and well-being!

Yoda’s story is a testament to the power of compassion, kindness, and determination. Let’s continue to spread love and kindness to all creatures in need!

UPDATE: Julie's Journey from Abandonment to Adoption!

A month ago, Julie was abandoned near our shelter, left to suffer with severe dehydration, malnutrition, and a crippling tick infestation. But thanks to our dedicated team and supporters, Julie made an incredible recovery!

Today, we're overjoyed to announce that Julie has found her forever home with a loving family!

We're grateful to everyone who contributed to Julie's transformation. Your support, donations, and encouragement mean the world to us!

At our sanctuary, we witness the devastating consequences of pet abandonment every day. Many dogs arrive at our doorstep, some friendly, others aggressive, all in need of love, care, and socialization.

But it's not just about providing basic care; it's about helping these abandoned dogs heal emotionally and psychologically. Some dogs become institutionalized, while others struggle to adjust, even starving themselves due to the trauma of abandonment.

Pet abandonment is not only inhumane but also a punishable offense. We urge everyone to remember that pets are not disposable commodities; they're living beings that depend on us for love, care, and protection.

So, let's make a pact to:

Never abandon your pet!

Adopt, don't shop!

Support local animal welfare organizations!

Report animal cruelty and neglect!

Together, we can create a world where every pet has a loving home and a second chance at happiness!

Our remarkable young volunteer Varsha from St. Patrick’s School, Adyar, whose compassion knows no bounds.

When asked to write about a symbol of hope, Varsha’s heart spoke louder than words. She chose our Blue Cross of India symbol, saying:

“The Blue Cross of India gives me hope because it’s a refuge for helpless animals. I’ve seen them suffer, fight, and sometimes lose their battle. But in their final moments, they’re surrounded by love and care. That’s true hope”.

Varsha’s words touched our hearts, reminding us that kindness matters. Her selflessness inspires us to create a world where animals are cherished and protected.

We’re honored to have Varsha as part of our family!
