The Geophagus Heckelii is a beautiful “earth-eater” from Brasil. This fish can reach over 8 inches in size. The reason it is called an earth eater (also earth mover) is due to the fact that they will constantly pick up and move rocks along the bottom of your aquarium creating piles and pits throughout your substrate.

How long do German blue ram fish live?
Because of poor breeding practices or improper care requirements, ram cichlids have the reputation for being less hardy compared to other species. If given lots of high-quality foods and clean water at the right temperature, they can live up to 4 years.

The dragonblood peacock cichlid will reach a length of seven inches, and may live for well over ten years in captivity. This cichlid is relatively passive for an African cichlid, and ideally should be kept with other cichlid species that are not overly aggressive.
