We are answering the No 1 Question : What's the best diet for my dog? 🥗
As a Canine Nutrition and Founder of FurrMeals, the first question I'm often asked is "What is the best diet?" The answer to that is a lot more than a one line answer. There is no quick fix or one size fits all or even a 'Best Diet' that will make every dog live their best life 🤷🏻♀️
But there are some considerations to find the best diet - for you and your pet. 👇🏻
Whatever you feed, you need to ensure 3 key things are addressed; safety, nutrition and science.
1. Safety - it's not enough for a diet to claim to be high quality purely because it uses quality ingredients because testing and quality control is the key. No pet food, of any type, is exempt from basic food safety. ⛑️
2. Nutrition - the diet must at the very least be complete and balanced as per AAFCO guidelines. Every meal and every single serving should contain what your pet needs every day in the correct proportions. 🔬
3. Science - Stop relying on anecdote, emotional and fear based marketing to scare us into buying a product - look deeper and ask questions 👩🏻🔬
So although there is no one BEST diet or evidence that one diet is any better than the next , but they must meet the above 3 factors. So whatever you feed - never compromise on these three things.
