🥑 CRUCIAL SAFETY WARNING FOR EXOTIC PET OWNERS 🛑
With National Avocado Day approaching on July 31st, we want to share a life-saving warning for our bird-loving community. While avocados are a healthy treat for humans, they are highly toxic and fatal to birds.
⚠️ Why are Avocados Dangerous?
Persin Toxicity: Avocados contain a fungicidal toxin called persin.
Fatal Effects: Ingesting even small amounts can cause rapid respiratory distress, fluid accumulation around the heart, and sudden death.
Highly Vulnerable Species: This toxin is especially fatal to Macaws, African Greys, Amazons, and Galahs.
🛑 Strict Rule: DO NOT FEED!
Keep avocados, guacamole, and any avocado-infused foods completely out of reach from your feathered friends.
Spread the word to fellow bird owners—awareness saves lives!
🌱 Our Mission at Dhunn Charitable Trust

Beat the summer heat with the power of nature! 🌿
Watch how we use fresh neem tree leaves as a natural, cooling enrichment inside our aviary and across every single animal enclosure.
As a dedicated animal welfare trust, keeping our residents comfortable during hot summer days is both a lawful duty and a deep ethical commitment.
Utilizing natural flora like neem is an excellent, community-responsible way to practice good petting and proactive animal care, ensuring both pets and stray animals stay healthy and refreshed.
Here is how this simple, natural enrichment transforms our sanctuary during the peak of summer:
Natural Cooling Properties: Neem branches hung inside the aviary and enclosures provide dense, refreshing shade and naturally lower the ambient temperature.
Lawful & Ethical Husbandry: Our farm is not open for public viewing, allowing our animals to enjoy these critical, stress-reducing enrichment activities in complete peace.
Insect Repellent & Hygiene: The natural oils in neem leaves act as a safe, non-toxic shield against flies, mosquitoes, and summer pests for all our bird and animal species.
Sensory & Foraging Fun: Tearing, chewing, and playing with the fresh green leaves enriches the animals' souls, prevents boredom, and encourages natural wild behaviors.
Soul-Enriching Species Coverage: Follow our page to watch vibrant videos of our colourful species interacting with their summer setups and living their best lives.
