.ಇಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ, ಕಾನೂನು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಸದೀಯ ವ್ಯವಹಾರಗಳ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಹೆಚ್ ಕೆ ಪಾಟೀಲರವರ 70ನೇ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಬ್ಬದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಿದ್ದಲಿಂಗೇಶ್ವರ ಹೆಚ್ ಪಾಟೀಲ - ಮಾಜಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಪಂಚಾಯತಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಗದಗ, ಶ್ರೀ ಮುರುಗೇಶ ಎಂ ಬಡ್ನಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಅಂದಾನಪ್ಪ ಎಸ್ ಬಡ್ನಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ ಎಸ್ ಗುಜಮಾಗಡಿ ರವರು 2 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದ ಒಂದು ಹುಲಿಯನ್ನು ದತ್ತು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ವನ್ಯ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇವರಿಗಿರುವ ಕಾಳಜಿಯನ್ನು ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯವು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಮಾಜಿ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಸ್ ಎಸ್ ಪಾಟೀಲರವರು ತಮ್ಮ 89ನೇ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಬ್ಬದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ 50 ಸಾವಿರ ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದ ಕೆಲವು ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ದತ್ತು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಕೂಡ ಇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಬ್ಬದಂದು ಕೆಲವು ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ದತ್ತುಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಪ್ರತೀ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಬ್ಬದಂದು ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ದತ್ತು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ತಮಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರೀತಿ & ಕಾಳಜಿಯನ್ನು ತೋರುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಇತರರಿಗೆ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವನ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇವರಿಗಿರುವ ಕಾಳಜಿಯನ್ನು ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯವು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ದಿನಾಂಕ 05-01-2023 ರಂದು ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯವು ಸುವರ್ಣ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ,ಅದರ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ 01-01-2023 ರಿಂದ ದಿನಾಂಕ 05-01-2023 ರವರೆಗೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ರಾತ್ರಿ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದ ವರ್ಣರಂಜಿತ ಗೋಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ವಿವಿಧ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಬೆಳಕಿನ ದೀಪಗಳ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಬಹುದು.
ಮಕ್ಕಳ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಗದಗ ನಗರದ 'ಕೆ ಎಲ್ ಇ' ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯ 10ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿನ 'ಏಷಿಯನ್ ಪಾಮ್ ಸಿವೆಟ್' ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯನ್ನು ದತ್ತು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿಗಳ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರಿಗಿರುವ ಕಾಳಜಿಯನ್ನು ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯವು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಚಿಣ್ಣರ ವನ ದರ್ಶನದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ 13-11-2022 ರಂದು ಡೋಣಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯ 50 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮೃಗಾಲಯಗಳ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿಗಳ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.

ಡಾ. ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ಸೋ. ಕಂಬಳಿ ಇವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿನ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಬೂದು ತೋಳವನ್ನು ದತ್ತು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿಗಳ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರಿಗಿರುವ ಕಾಳಜಿಗಾಗಿ ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಅಭಿನಂದನೆಗಳು.
ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದ ಸುವರ್ಣ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಇಂದು ಮೃಗಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಶಿಬಿರ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಪಾಲಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಸ್ವಯಂಪ್ರೇರಿತವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಗತಿಕ ರೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲು ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ, ನಾವು ಅರಣ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವುದು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ನಮಗೆ ಮನುಕುಲದ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಇದೆ.

ಬಡ್ಜರಿಗರ್ ಪಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ೦೬-೧೦-೨೦೨೨ ರಿಂದ ೦೬-೧೦-೨೦೨೩ ರವರೆಗೆ ದತ್ತು ಪಡೆದ ಧ್ರುವ ಸರ್ಜಾ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳ ಬಳಗಕ್ಕೆ ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳು. ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿಗಳ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ನೀವು ನೀಡಿದ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯವು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
To commemorate 68th Wildlife week, Today Bird watching session was organised in our Gadag Zoo at 6 AM. Youth actively took part in it. They sighted around 25 free ranging species of birds in our zoo premises. And a session was conducted on migration of birds, it's types, physical features to observed while watching birds, nesting behaviour and parenting etc were discussed by habitual ornithologist Kiran Kammar
೬೮ನೇ ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ಸಪ್ತಾಹದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಗದಗ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಜಾನೆ ೬ ಘಂಟೆಗೆ ಪಕ್ಷಿ ವೀಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಯುವಕ-ಯುವತಿಯರು ಉತ್ಸುಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಮೃಗಾಲಯದ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡು ಬರುವ ಸುಮಾರು ೨೫ ಜಾತಿಯ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದರು. ಹವ್ಯಾಸಿ ಪಕ್ಷಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಾದ ಕಿರಣ್ ಕಮ್ಮಾರ ರವರು ಯುವಜನತೆಗೆ ಪಕ್ಷಿ ವೀಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ವಲಸೆ, ಪಕ್ಷಿ ವೀಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಗಮನಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಅಂಶಗಳು, ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೌತುಕ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಚರ್ಚೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.

To commemorate Wildlife week In-reach activity was conducted in our Gadag zoo today. *"Wild Karnataka"* documentary was shown to visitors. Before that show, we told brief information about our zoo. And also *Pebble painting* activity on the theme *wildlife* was conducted. Children actively took part in it.

ದಿಶಾ ಮಹೇಶ ಕರಿಕಟ್ಟಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದ ಚೋಟಾ ರಾಯಭಾರಿ. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ 1 ನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಬ್ಬದಂದು 30000₹ ಚೆಕ್ ಅನ್ನು ಉಪ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ದೀಪಿಕಾ ಬಾಜಪೈ ಮೇಡಂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೀಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಬೂದು ತೋಳವನ್ನು ದತ್ತು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಅಂದರೆ 30/9/2022 ರಂದು ಆಕೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷ ತುಂಬುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆಕೆಯ ತಂದೆ ಮಹೇಶ ಕರಿಕಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ವಿಎಂ ವೇರ್ ಸಾಫ್ಟ್‌ವೇರ್ ಲಿಮಿಟೆಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಕರಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ಭಾರತೀಯ ಬೂದು ತೋಳವು ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಡೆಕ್ಕನ್ ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಭೂಮಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಲ್ಲುಗಾವಲು, ಕುರುಚಲು ಕಾಡುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಭಾರತೀಯ ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಇದು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಳಿವಿನಂಚಿನಲ್ಲಿದೆ, ಇದು ಶುಷ್ಕ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಜಾತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.
Ramakrishna rolli, a farmer adopted Lady Amherst's pheasant in our Gadag Zoo for a period of one year from 29/9/2022 to 28/9/2023. Gadag zoo is thankful for the contribution made towards noble cause and involvement in wildlife conservation efforts
Today forest guards from tattihalla Forest training centre visited our zoo. They were taught about Zoo management by zoo education officer Uma, Animal rescue methods, Immobilization of animals by Nikil, wildlife forensic science & illegal wild animals trading by Mahesh Marennavar (RFO).
Today, clay modelling and drama competition were held at Gadag zoo. There was an incredible response from public.
Today speech competition was held for highschool students. Theme:why should we conserve forest and wildlife? There was an excellent response by the various school students. 35 children took part in it. Certificate of participation is given to all at the end.

Five species of rhinoceros are found in the world, they are Black, White, Javan, Great Indian, and Sumatran. One horned Rhinoceros is found in India & it is a state animal of Assam. Indian rhinoceros are classified on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Red list as Endangered. *Save Rhinos from extinction*
