On February 8, a six year old girl was rescued from under the debris in the Gazianep, Turkey. She had been trapped for more than 72 hours.

Our country's NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) with the assistance of their four four-legged heroes are helping aid rescue efforts in earthquake hit Turkey. We feel proud of the two dogs Romeo and Julie were able to locate her under the rubble and bring her out safely! As Hindustan Times report in their story " All our canines sent to Turkey are experienced .

For example, Romeo participated in the rescue operation after a flyover collapse in Kolkata in 2018. Honey was part of a building collapse rescue operation in Greater Noida in 2018. Honey and the NDRF team managed to find nine bodies in record time,” an NDRF official said, asking not to be named." We continue to pray for the victims of this massive earthquake 🙏🏽

We all wish our pets can live a long life, lucky for Rita Kimball, her pet Chihuahua Spike has been with her since 2009. She found the then 10 year old Spike abandoned in a parking lot.

Born in 1999, Spike seemed to have survived multiple attacks from different animals but to have come back even stronger each time like an immortal superhero. Now at 23 years and 7 days, Spike continues to win more hearts and health battles.

Here's wishing him a long and peaceful life 💐🥳

According to a study published in the publication ‘Current Biology’, researchers have found that there is an increase in oxytocin levels in dogs when reunited with pet-parents or nursing pups.

The rise in the ‘bonding hormone’ or oxytocin leads to a higher volume of secretion from the eyes. Dogs over the years are extremely domesticated and have known to form an inter-species bond with humans unlike any other being.

The fact that there is a measurable increase of hormones on reuniting with their pet-parents and human companions further solidifies the relationship between people and their pets. So when your pet is happy to see you, remember it’s not just you crying tears of joy!
