Paw-fect identification for dogs, Delhi rolls introduces QR-based 'Aadhar Cards' for furry citizens! 🐶💛

In a groundbreaking move, 100 dogs were issued QR-based 'Aadhar cards' on April 27, 2024, at different spots like Delhi T1 Airport and India Gate.

This effort aimed to ensure the safety and well-being of our beloved furry friends.
It's a special ID tag containing comprehensive information about the stray dog stored within it.

This QR code can be attached to the dog as a tag and conveniently scanned by anyone who finds a lost stray nearby. It includes details such as feeder information and emergency contacts.

In order for dog lovers to safeguard the animals, the Kerala High Court has further ordered the State Government to create policies, plans, or regulations that would allow licenses to be granted to those who wish to keep stray dogs.

For fear of being attacked by stray dogs, students are scared to travel alone to school.

According to Justice PV Kunhikrishnan, genuine dog lovers should come forward and assist the local government institutions in protecting dogs rather than writing about them in print and visual media.

Justice further directed the administration to confer with the national government and, in case a plan or guideline is required, to draft one.

A municipality in the eastern region of Sicily Town has instituted a €200 yearly reduction on TARI, or the waste disposal tax, for those who take in an abandoned dog from nearby kennels or linked animal shelters.

The deaths of two persons were discovered by authorities in Himachal Pradesh's Billing Valley, after they reportedly slipped and fell in the snow. According to authorities, a domestic dog stood vigil over them for over two days.

On 4th January 2024, two visitors went missing, one of which was a lady. The German Shepherd's barks were heard by rescue personnel searching for the two on Tuesday, according to the authorities.

They followed the sound and found the dead on the side of a walking track, 3km below the paraglider take-off location, they said.

According to the authorities, the dog, called Alpha, guarded the remains for over two days, which bore evidence of wild animal attacks.

When the bodies were retrieved by rescue personnel, the dog accompanied them on foot to Bir, where the man's relatives had taken him, according to authorities.

The fatalities, named as Pathankot resident Abhinandan Gupta (30) and his companion Pranita Wala (26) from Pune, had arrived in Bir Billing.

When the two did not return to Chogan near Bir, their friends contacted the police on Monday, and a rescue squad initiated a search operation. The remains were located on Tuesday with the help of Alpha.

After retiring as chairman of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata directed his focus towards a personal venture - an advanced animal hospital in Mumbai.

This long-awaited dream will soon come to fruition with the opening of the Tata Trusts Small Animal Hospital in Mahalaxmi, slated for the first week of March.

Tata, a fervent animal lover, emphasized the importance of such a facility, stating, 'Pets are integral members of our families today.'

His vision stems from personal experiences, including a poignant moment when he sought advanced treatment for a pet in Minnesota.

The hospital, costing Rs 165 crore and spanning five stories, will accommodate 200 patients under the leadership of British veterinarian Thomas Heathcote.

Originally planned for Navi Mumbai, Tata relocated the project to a more accessible location in consideration of pet owners' convenience, despite facing delays due to logistical challenges and the pandemic.

Tata remains committed to providing world-class care for furry companions in need.

A LinkedIn user's joy over his first pet-friendly flight turned into a nightmare when he went from Ahmedabad to Bengaluru on January 26.

He had paid Rs 5,000 for a pet ticket, expecting a comfortable travel for himself, his wife, and his Shih Tzu. However, the experience did not live up to expectations.

According to the post, the aircraft, was delayed by more than three hours. This led to the family spending more than six hours at the airport.

To make matters worse, the ground staff and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) members looked to have no idea how to handle pet-related concerns.

“The crew seemed totally devoid of any logic. We were speaking to one steward who said if I,a passenger on the window seat, kept the pet container on my lap,it would somehow “restrict” the movement of other passengers,” he wrote.

The event drew attention from social media when this user tagged Animal Welfare Society India and PETA in his post.

A Goldendoodle ate $4,000 in cash lying on owner's kitchen counter 🤑

It was reported that seven-year-old Cecil ate a bunch of $50 and $100 bills. The money, withdrawn from the couple's savings account, was to be stashed away.

The owners called the veterinarian to see if Cecil should be checked out after eating the stack of cash, but they were reassured.

Cecil later threw up some of the ingested money, which the couple started to piece together, but the owners also had to retrieve cash from the dog's other end.

The couple then pieced together the notes like a jigsaw puzzle. They salvaged about $3,550 in total, meaning they only lost about $450.

Now the owners plan to create an artwork with the remaining shreds of bills they couldn't fully piece together.
