This Janmashtami Indroducing our Little Kanha, Gulab Jamun aka Gulla 🧿
This Janmashtami Indroducing our Little Kanha, Gulab Jamun aka Gulla 🧿Gulab Jamun came to us as a 30 days old pup, when he was found permanently paralysed without any known cause. In the last 8 months, he has become our son instead. We are very protective of him. The chance of a Paralysed puppy living a good life is rare and hence we decided to adopt him as our own. Gulla had to undergo two surgeries in the last few months: 1 leg amputation and a penile amputation. He might need others in the future. But he has an Amazing life. People and vets would generally suggest euthanizing such a puppy because they wonder for how long will we be able to care for a dog like this? For how long will we have patience? And our answer is- forever. If taking care of them gives them a happy life like that if Gulab Jamun, we are ready to work 24*7 give them that life. Gulab Jamun is hardly seen in the common park because we don't leave him unsupervised anywhere, but on rare occasions, he graces the common public with his appearance.Leave some words of love for Gulab Jamun in our comments!#janmashtami #krishna #littlekrishna #gulabjamun #specialneedsdog #paralyseddog #dogdressup #rescuedog #desidog #indielove
Breeding animals is not a personal choice!Do you know what personal choice is? Pineapple on pizza is a personal choice, sleeping with lights on is a personal choice, sexuality is a personal choice. Do you know what doesn’t qualify as a personal choice? When your choices directly or indirectly question someone’s right to exist or quality of life or creates a massive impact on the society and circumstances. Then the choice moves away from the end of the spectrum that is personal freedom and comes under what we call “responsible vs irresponsible behaviour”We have been called “extremists” for being against breeding, or on some occasions”bitter people”, but if it’s a radical stance to stand up for the animals who can’t speak for themselves and wanting to break a cycle of cruelty, then radical and extremists we are.Burfi came with all possible conditions. She has neurological issues due to kidney damage (mind you, she’s only 5), a possible liver shunt, severe anemia, infection (she’s a parvo survivor because they vaccinated her only once in her life), a mass under her tongue that prevents her from sticking her tongue in. In fact the mass was so bad that in her previous family, she couldn’t even eat anything or swallow water for weeks and that’s why they wanted to euthanize her. Apparently, she was a faulty cat because she didn’t like hanging out with anyone after both her litters passed away at a young age. Surprise? Surprise? Anyway, Burfi has started to forget her past life. She eats now, albeit slowly and drinks water. She hangs out with humans and cat friends alike. She has a lot of conditions that we need to untangle one by one. But she’s not the only one. Thousands, if not lakhs of animals are sacrificed every year in the name of supporting the personal freedom of breeding, and rescuers who support breeding when famous celebs or influencers are involved, all we want to say is “We hope you get picked. But at what cost?”[Breeding, b
I have no words for this incident!
We think we are strong now and our heart is immune to shock after being in animal welfare for so long but humans actually manage to surpass their level of cruelty each time.
There's nothing more I can add to the incident. It's exactly as visible. A dog gives birth on the streets, tries to chase people away for coming near her puppies and people decide that she deserves to be beaten to death' publicly. So many onlookers, yet not a single person came forward to help.
A rescuer has filed an FIR, yet the perpetrators are roaming free. Because when has anyone's life mattered in this country, unless they are a vote bank?
What can we do?
Create public pressure. We are adding a mail template and a list of email IDs in the comments. Send mass emails, ask your family and friends to send them. If you have friends in the media, ask them to cover this incident with as much zeal as they cover dog bite incidents. Publicly shame the perpetrators if you know/find them. Plaster their faces on your social media wall, so that everyone is made aware of them.
You can find a link for the video, template and email IDs and the copy of FIR on @sanjanabarua 's bio.

Merry Christmas to all the pet parents who treat their pets as their own, the feeders who sacrifice their resources to care for the strays, the fosters who are not in this to get rich, the shelters and rescues doing genuine work, the empathetic people who support animal welfare and even the neutral humans who might not love animals but don't hate them either. May all your dreams come true! For anyone otherwise, treating animals as a mere property or hating them, we hope Santa gifts you some compassion and understanding to become a better human!
Why do we come close to shutting down every now and then? Because of people like Sumedha Sahni. Almost 7 months ago, she sent a beautiful but extremely sick dog to us for medical boarding. The dog was bald, anemic, full of infection and severely immunocompromised. It's a miracle she survived and more so, she recovered enough to be released under the care of a caretaker back to her location.Hornet a.k.a Takli, has fought recurring mange, anemia and leptospirosis (which is fatal) and was even hospitalised in a private clinic for almost a month. We've spent north of 60,000 on her medical expenses alone, all of which we had to pay from our pocket. Forget about her boarding and living expenses, Sumedha hasn't cared to even pay us a fraction of her medical expenses. We are more than present to supply rescuers and reporters. We've many dogs whose medical expenses are a lot and the rescuer is unable to pay for the boarding. We come to an arrangement with them where they do their due and we support them with whatever we can afford. However, despite multiple attempts Sumedha hasn't graced us with a reply. What's worse is that because of this, we've been unable to release Hornet either because we aren't sure where to release and if she'll be taken care of there. People really expect us to keep going as if we have some invisible source of money which will pay all our bills and as if we've unlimited space and don't need to release dogs back.If anyone wants to help us with Hornet, please DM. If anyone wishes to confront Sumedha about this, be our guest.
If you're reading this, it's a sign: do not give up just yet. Sooner or later, life finds a way to be well or we learn to cope with things that are not well. Situations never stay the same. There's a small window of opportunity out there for us all. We just need to be sane at the moment to notice and observe the opportunity. On that note, please consider becoming a beacon of light for us by donating:-Paytm/Gpay @ 9354076230-UPI- indielovedesi@okaxis-Bank detailsAcc Name : IndieLove Pet Services Account Number: 114705500373Bank Name: ICICI Bank Account Type: Current Account IFSC Code : ICIC0001147Branch: Sushant Lok II, Sector 57, GurgaonMilaap link in bio#donate #mentalhealth #dontgiveup #light #dogsofinstaworld #goldenhour #dogexpressions #donatenow #foryoupage #keepgoing #sign #universe #animalwelfare #fordogs #helpus #indiedog #indielove #desidog #desidogfather
