We were so glad to meet CIMHANS NEUROSCIENCES TEAM and the Kids who are enrolled into their program of Councelling and learning. The moment they approached Progressive Canines team , without a moment of thought it was a YES from us... I mean ,who would think for a second time when it's something to do with KIDS WELLBEING and SOCIALIZATION. Right!!! On 11.6.22, CIMHANS team planned AAT for their Kids ( 20 of them) at Progressive Canines It was a day of learning for each one of us, interaction with innocent and beautiful souls(kids and out Fur kids). We mark this as one of the Most beautiful days at our School. For people who are new to this subject- please read further- ✔️ AAT- *Animal-assisted therapy is an alternative or complementary type of therapy that includes the use of animals in a treatment. ✔️ TYPES- *The most commonly used types of animal-assisted therapy are canine-assisted therapy and equine-assisted therapy. ✔️GOALS- *The goal of animal-assisted therapy is to improve a patient's social, emotional, or cognitive functioning and literature reviews state that animals can be useful for educational and motivational effectiveness for participants.* Studies have documented some positive effects of the therapy on subjective self-rating scales and on objective physiological measures such as blood pressure and hormone levels. ✔️CONDITIONS THAT SHOW BENEFIT- Psychological disorder, developmental disorder, dementia, cancer, chronic pain, advanced heart failure, etc. Animal-assisted therapy is commonly used for psychological disorders. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and major depressive disorder.

Elsa's Agility Training Starts! We bring to you the agility training progress over 3 days of our Golden Retriever, Elsa. Day 1 - As this was her first session, she didn't know what to do which is why you see her move towards the handler. We started teaching her the 'behaviour' of jumping through the hoop. Day 2 - Elsa learnt the behavior as well as the command of 'Jump' and was really happy that she did well! Day 3 - Elsa got used to jumping through the lower hoop so we decided to introduce the higher hoop to see how she does. Junior Czar back in training!
Jr. Czar, grandson of Senior Czar (India's first titled Protection Dog), was bred and trained at Progressive in his 1st year. There was a break in his protection training for a couple of months. He's back with us to continue his training and is enthusiastic, and, we can't be happier! 🙂
However, due to the break, his bites have become shallow. To improve his bite (full bite), we are building frustration in him, that is, we do not give him the prey every single time - what we mean by this is that he should not think that he can bite shallow and get away with it. What this will result in is that he will start biting full with regular practice.
