Dogs are incredibly helpful and vital to our lives. After a 7.7 earthquake on March 28 collapsed a Bangkok high-rise, 11 trained dogs—including golden retrievers Lek and Safari—were deployed. Not only do they search for survivors, but they also offer emotional support to grieving families, a role first seen during the 2023 Turkey earthquake. Mr. Alongkot Chukaew of K9 USAR Thailand explained that meeting these dogs helps bridge the gap between rescue efforts and the emotional needs of victims’ families, providing much-needed comfort during such difficult times.
