German Shepherd Dogs - from Working / Sport bloodlines from Germany and Czech Republic. These dogs trace their ancestry to Horand von Grafrath - the 1st GSD , created in 1895 by the founder of the breed - Captain Max von Stepanitz in Germany. Having survived two World Wars - primarily because of the high standards, set by the progenitor ( Captain Stepanitz ) and, further developed by DDR ' Wertmes

sziffer ' grading system, maintained by the former GDR & bordering countries of the ' Iron Curtain ' - Czechoslovakia, where they were also, used to patrol the long borders adjoining western Europe. Among their many attributes are a great instinct, intense drive, intelligence, natural protection traits but, with proper training - these dogs make a super loyal companion with unmatched attachment to the family they are brought up in !!!
