A safe and loving cat creche in Kolkata for your beloved pets while you travel out of town for business or pleasure. Be it a few days or months, Meow Baari provides you the best alternative for your pets. This includes food - Whiskas, Me-O, Sheba and selective Matisse packaged food. Any other brand of packaged food has to be provided by you. Special Care: (physical disability or on prescribed/sche

If the boarder(s) are on a special diet, the parents/caregivers are requested to provide that themselves. We do not accept raw or cooked food as they tend to spoil easily. You are welcome to provide special/prescription packaged food. We do try to get their choice of fish but that is not always possible. We discuss that with the caregiver(s) in detail before they leave their kid(s) with us. Certain food products are not allowed at all:
Milk and all dairy products (since a lot of cats are allergic to them). Raw fish/meat of any kind. Grass, human snacks, puffed rice, biscuits etc. ALL BOARDING CHARGES ARE PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. The following are essential for boarding:

1. Proof of yearly CRP vaccine (or similar) given - signed and stamped by a registered veterinary doctor. Kittens who are less than a year old or adult cats who are getting their first CRP vaccine need to get a booster dose as well.
2. Proof of yearly anti-rabies vaccine given - signed and stamped by a registered veterinary doctor.
3. Deworming (with Kiwoff or Skyworm or Feli D or any other cat-specific dewormer)
4. Spot-On treatment for fleas
5. Spaying/Neutering is compulsory for cats who are 6 months old or older. The stress of a new place tends to activate their heat, which causes compromised immunity. This makes them prone to indigestion and highly susceptible to infections of all kinds.
6. New boarders can stay for a maximum of 3 or 4 days the first time. Longer stays are allowed for returning boarders only.
7. Parents/caregivers need to make an appointment to visit our space and meet us before they board their kids at Meow Baari. (Last minute bookings are not allowed for new boarders)

IMPORTANT:
Vaccination and/or sterilisation should be completed atleast 2 to 3 weeks before boarding. Any repercussions arising out of boarding un-vaccinated cats with us is the sole responsibility of the parent/caregiver. Meow Baari clearly warns parents/caregivers against boarding such cats/kittens, since we cannot ensure that they will not come in contact with any cat/kitten with a latent infection. Boarding check-in and check-out times:
Monday to Saturday: 10-11am and 5-7pm

First-time boarders need to come in by 10am for the morning slot, and 5:30pm for the evening slot. Visiting hours:

Caregiver(s) are advised to make an appointment to visit Meow Baari before they decide to leave their kid(s) in our care. Meow Baari actively encourages freedom to boarders and socialising amongst themselves, and takes the necessary precautions and time to introduce cats to each other. However, parents may refuse any socialising of their cat(s), in which case we will have to cage the cat(s) and restrict them from direct interaction with other boarders. This is a decision solely entrusted to parents/caregivers.

Adorable siblings Ella (F), Ray (M), Miles (M) and Louis (M) are up for adoption ❤️
(They have been fostered by dimma from the age of 5 weeks)

Age: 3 months
Vaccines: 1st round of vaccines will be completed before adoption.
Dewormed and litter-trained.
Accustomed to humans, packaged food and comfortable with being fed medicines orally.

These siblings have grown up around each other, and other adult cats, so we are looking for parents who already have a cat or are willing to adopt atleast two kids together.

Non-negotiable terms:
1. Adopters need to understand that love and patience are key requirements when adopting any animal, and the importance of respecting their animal instincts.
2. We need them to be adopted as indoor cats only.
3. Deworming, flea-treatment and vaccinations should be done regularly.
4. They should be spayed/neutered at the right age.
5. The decision to adopt has to be taken by all members of the family; especially the one who will be financially responsible.
6. Adopters should be aware that this would be a lifelong commitment (in cat years).

We are happy to guide the parents in kitten/cat caregiving. Dimma is always ready to share whatever little wisdom she has acquired over the years 🤓😻

Our Story

A loving family to care for your feline babies while you're away on work or pleasure.

Meow Baari is managed, supported, and run, by animal lovers, who have been involved in rescuing and fostering of at-risk street animals (primarily dogs and cats), as well as extensive vaccination and sterilisation campaigns within the city of Kolkata.

We are not a non-profit or shelter, but a paid boarding for pet cats; this is an effort at a sustainable endeavour to provide care and support for at-risk street animals.

Your patronage will allow us to continue working with street animals, since our earnings from the creche is used to fund our rescue, foster, vaccination, and ABC (Animal Birth Control) efforts.

Overnight Stay:

INR 300.00 per day per cat – includes lunch at 12 noon (fish/chicken - with/without rice or packaged wet food), dinner at 8:00pm, and two snacks in the morning and evening (dry kibbles).

Vaccination/Health Requirements: We have strict rules regarding vaccinations of cats/kittens. The vaccination records are requested to be submitted with us when the boarder is dropped off. 1. Combination Vaccine: (Virbac Feligen CRP, Nobivac Tricat etc.) To guard against Feline calicivirus, Feline herpes virus and Panleucopenia virus. 2. Anti-Rabies Vaccine

We also suggest that you deworm your cat(s) and treat them for fleas before and/or immediately after their stay. Please consult your vet regarding this. Deworming and flea treatments are best carried out under the guidance of a veterinarian.
