The Department of Animal Husbandry (DAHD), as part of the Rashtryia Gokul Mission scheme by the Government of India, has given the green light to an incredible project - the establishment of Breed Multiplication Farms (BMF) on an entrepreneurship model.
The goal? To provide our hardworking farmers with access to high genetic merit and disease-free heifers of both cattle and buffaloes at an affordable cost. The project is all about empowering our agricultural community and enhancing the quality of livestock.
Here's the scoop:
🌱 The DAHD is offering a fantastic opportunity with a one-time assistance program for the establishment of breeder farms. This assistance covers a whopping 50% of the project cost, with a maximum capital subsidy of Rs. 2 Crore.
🏞️ For those entrepreneurs located in the enchanting North Eastern and Hilly States, there's even better news! You'll receive a 50% assistance for establishing your breeder farm, with a cap of Rs. 50 lakh. The remaining 50% can be managed through loans obtained from scheduled banks or other financial institutions like NCDC, with terms and conditions to be determined by these institutions.
💼 Are you thinking about financing through a bank? No worries! The beneficiary's contribution is set at a minimum of 10% of the total project cost.
💰 If you're considering a self-financed project, rest assured that your contribution won't exceed 37.5% of the total project cost.
