Abandoning an animal

The Law -

Section 11(1)(i) of The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960:

If any person without reasonable cause, abandons any animal in circumstances which render it likely that it will suffer pain by reason of starvation or thirst; he shall be held punishable

Section 11(1)(i) of the PCA Act, 1960: (Non-Cognizable Offence)

The Procedure -

• If you see an animal that you think has been abandoned, secure and pacify the animal.

• Ask around to see if anyone knows for how long he has been there or who the animal belongs to.

• If no one seems to know anything, take photos and videos of the animal.

• Contact the local animal welfare organisation and explain the situation to them.

Monsoon affects these fur babies & difficult for them to survive since they have no shelter & no food, please it's a request feed them in bags or bowls containers etc , as the ground surface is very dirty
