*BACK IT UP ALREADY!*
A lot of us are taking this unfortunate situation for granted. However careful and safe you are, even if you are taking precautions extremely well, there is still a POSSIBILITY of an emergency situation at our homes. The biggest problem that most of us will face is - where do I keep my pet while I'm either taken away to the hospital or quarantined at home?
What to do:
๐พ Make calls to trusted friends or relatives ( yes, multiple) and keep a back up ready for your pets.
๐พ If you don't have friends or relatives who can care for your pets, make calls to professional boarding facilities and see what the situation is.
๐พ Keep a message ready on your phone stating anything that you'd like your pets' caretaker to know (medical issues, behavior issues, your vet and trainer's contacts, food and toileting times etc).
๐พ Transport services for your pets are available, pet ambulances are fortunately running (kudos to them!). Have their numbers saved on your phones.
๐พ If you do have to send your pets away, please make sure you don't send anything but your pets' collars/harness and leash (and medicines and shampoo if required) ONLY. No toys required, no bowls, no nothing! You don't want to put the caretaker at risk, your pet won't have anywhere else to go.
You can always get in touch with any of us trainers & behaviorists for any help that you need!
PLEASE MAKE A CONTINGENCY PLAN READY FOR YOUR PETS. We'll get through this together, just let's plan it out well in advance! โค๏ธ๐พ
