𝗧𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹
If you plan on getting a puppy or doggo or just one, the first thing to teach them other than toilet training is their own name.
Everyone wants their dogs to enjoy their freedom and play around and the best way to ensure that is making their recall as strong as possible!
With a strong recall, you could let go of your dog in a garden, the park or in your society without having to worry about your pup getting lost. Calling out their name should be enough for them to make their way back to you.
There are many ways to teach recall, you start at home and then slowly move to more distracting environments. You can use a piece of food and show your dog massive amounts of excitement as rewards for responding. You have to convince your dog that you are the most fun person around so that he is attracted to you.
You and your family members can sit around the house and call out to the pup and give it a piece of food along with a lot of encouragement and praise for responding and keep doing that till their recall gets strong enough. Just 10-15 minutes a day, to begin with is good enough.
Recall is one of the most crucial commands to teach your pup to ensure its freedom and get them to come back to you when called upon.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗳 𝗧𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴!

Toilet training is honestly a game of patience. I recently got a new Boxer puppy, Edmund (Eddie) and toilet training him has been just as fun and amusing as it is tiring and boring!
The first thing we did when he came home was take him to the toilet; 1 hour later still nothing and then the minute he got out he had p*ed all over the house.
Its just been two days and it is a constant race between me and the pup, whether he will p*e first or I will take him to the bathroom first! At times I got him to the bathroom and he just ended up sleeping there but eventually it has started working out and now its mostly him p*eing in the bathroom except a few emergency cases!!
There is no set formula for toilet training and pet parenting but I can help out by giving you tips and advice to make it easier and better.

*BACK IT UP ALREADY!*

A lot of us are taking this unfortunate situation for granted. However careful and safe you are, even if you are taking precautions extremely well, there is still a POSSIBILITY of an emergency situation at our homes. The biggest problem that most of us will face is - where do I keep my pet while I'm either taken away to the hospital or quarantined at home?

What to do:
🐾 Make calls to trusted friends or relatives ( yes, multiple) and keep a back up ready for your pets.
🐾 If you don't have friends or relatives who can care for your pets, make calls to professional boarding facilities and see what the situation is.
🐾 Keep a message ready on your phone stating anything that you'd like your pets' caretaker to know (medical issues, behavior issues, your vet and trainer's contacts, food and toileting times etc).
🐾 Transport services for your pets are available, pet ambulances are fortunately running (kudos to them!). Have their numbers saved on your phones.
🐾 If you do have to send your pets away, please make sure you don't send anything but your pets' collars/harness and leash (and medicines and shampoo if required) ONLY. No toys required, no bowls, no nothing! You don't want to put the caretaker at risk, your pet won't have anywhere else to go.

The Watch Me Command

The Watch Me Command is an effective tool to get your dogs attention. It might be to distract your dog from other dogs or food on the road or while training them for other commands. It is also useful during leash walking to ensure that your pup keeps intermittent eye contact with you and his attention doesn’t stray to other things. Make sure that the Watch Me Command is one of the first commands you teach your pup while training. To know more on it and and learn how to train your pup, you can DM me! 😊😊

Scent Games For Your Dogs
So I decided to make a small video showing different scent games you can play with your dogs during this quarantine.
Scent games are extremely mentally stimulating for your dogs and really good for them!
I hope you enjoyed this video and it was useful for you and your dogs!! .

P.S. I used chocolate biscuits in the video because I didn’t have anything else at home! But please don’t use chocolate biscuits with your dog. It is harmful for them! .

In these times of social distancing and quarantine, if you have a dog be sure to remember and give them some distance. As much as you want to constantly play with them and be with them, they are beings too and they do need some alone time to recuperate and energise. If you see your dog showing signs of needing alone time don’t go and disturb it and let it come back to you on its own time.

As someone who as grown up with dogs, I have learnt a lot about life from them. From compassion, to discipline to endless love! Dogs have taught me more about emotions that teenage has! Having done Shirin Merchant - canine behaviourist and trainer Advanced Canine Training Course I am now finally qualified to say I have given my time and effort to fully understand them and how to take care of their needs and help them.
