BENJI IS STILL HOPING, PRAYING, WAITING…

BENJI was found abandoned on a highway with his face and paws destroyed by maggots. Despite a miraculous physical recovery, a bit of Benji’s mental trauma still remains with him. Today, the only issue that BENJI has is severe resource guarding, especially in a home environment with a lot of stuff lying around.

We are looking for a family that has prior experience with handling trauma related aggression in dogs, a patient and compassionate family willing to put in the time and effort required to understand his habits and triggers. Ideally, a home with no kids, no cats, at least one other friendly dog and access to a balcony or terrace.

BENJI loves the company of dogs and is a super travelling companion. He can be left home alone for hours without any drama. He loves running free, chasing cats, a fat piece of cheese, squeaky toys and an undersized cat bed!

He’s got an excellent temperament and he’s a family dog; not guard dog material at all and not for a farm either. He’s friendly with other dogs and gets on great with kids too. CLAUS :: This 2 month old boy was found on Christmas eve inside a restricted defence space at Navy Nagar. Apparently, a brick fell on his back and xrays show he’s got a sacral fracture. He’s managing to squat walk but is unable to get food or fend for himself from the other dogs in his current location. The last 10 days have shown a lot of improvement in his condition and we’re now looking at getting him adopted rather than sending him to a shelter for the rest of his life. Come on, Mumbai city! This is the third post thats going out for this baby and I’ve not received a single decent inquiry for this child! Is she not pretty enough to be adopted, or what?! She’s taken 3 long months to recover from a broken jaw and her rehab has been terribly long and painful; she really really deserves a second chance with an amazing family! Aptly named Jaws, she’s around a year old, up to date with her vaccinations and she’s spayed and litter trained too. Perfect really with no flaws to mention! It’s our birthday today and OH MY DOG! has completed 7 very successful, happy years!

7 years ago, what started out as a booming pet grooming and retail business has over the years actually downsized instead of expanding. Don’t worry, I’m not disappointed; I’m actually happy, and convoluted as it might sound to you, this was the plan all along! 😄😄 I cut back on the business by minimalising retail and upping the grooming quotient until finally about 2 years ago, I finally reached where I wanted to be all along...
Today, I spend a few hours grooming every morning grooming and once I’m done, the rest of my day is utilised rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing animals in need. I’ve got a fantastic team backing me up and giving me the inspiration I need to push on. I’m a 100% passionate about what I do otherwise I don’t do it at all. I’m where I want to be in life and I’m finally doing what I dreamt of doing all along. I’ve built relationships with my clients such that they are all extended family and friends more than clients. I’m supported by everyone I choose to surround myself with. I’ve adopted 6 beautiful children over the last 4 years who I cannot imagine my life without. I am a happy women, a happy business woman, a happy pet parent and a lucky person to have it all right now.

Sally and her brother Prince were found tied to a lamppost at Colaba, abandoned by their owners. They were picked up by us and put into foster care. Meet, foster & ADOPT JACKIE.
HIS STORY: Jackie first came to us in July 2017 with a shattered hind leg. Someone brought him to BSPCA and anonymously left him there; their good deed was done. His leg was treated and fixed, Jackie was dewormed, vaccinated and neutered and by October 2017, he was ready to go back to his non-existent home.
Since we had no knowledge of his prior history or location, we released him into the care of a feeder who operates around the Elphinston area. He gained some weight, adjusted well and settled down in his new environment with his caregiver keeping an eye on him.
In December 2017, we got a call from Jackie’s feeder saying that she had found him half unconscious lying in a pool of blood oozing from his nose and mouth. So, back to BSPCA came poor Jackie.
After an initial consult and a few X-rays later, we were told that Jackie had a fractured skull and a broken jaw! He was in immeasurable pain and we were advised to put him down. Praying for a miracle which is sometimes possible, we decided to push on for a few days and see if he was responding at all to our intensive treatment coupled with a lot of love and care. To cut a long story short, our wish for the impossible was granted and Jackie slowly but surely made a full recovery under our care!!!
TODAY: Jackie is still sitting in his cage at BSPCA, waiting for somebody to take him home. He’s been through too too much and HE NEEDS A FAMILY TO CALL HIS OWN. He’s friendly with other dogs and cats, he’s up to date with all his vaccinations, he’s litter trained and he’s got the gentlest and most peaceful, loving temperament ever. I wonder what would happen to anyone from that household who became too fat?!! Would they be surrendered to SPCA as well?!! Anyway guys.. This child needs a home desperately. She’s a friendly dog, gets on well and has been around other dogs, vaccinated and dewormed and ready to get the hell out of a hospital environment and into a home! MAMMA MEOW + 5
They gave me the honour and pleasure of being a huge part of their lives for the first three months. Together, we experienced life, death and much more.. It was a roller coaster ride; indescribable highs on some days and the lowest of lows on others, the miracle of having faith on some days and the hopelessness of having none on others.. And even though our time together was concluded with just three happy kids instead of five, my heart has expanded to accommodate five souls + Mamma Meow and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect family to rescue, foster and home than theirs! ❤️

ASH. Born on 1.5.17. One of 5 babies.
It is said that pictures speak louder than words so here's my story from the day I was born until today when I'm almost 3 months old. In the photos you see my mamma and my siblings, two of which passed away and two that got adopted into beautiful homes, leaving me all alone. I wish that this time around my story and photos find their way into someone's heart big enough to take me home too. I've heard that street life is tough for a little girl, especially in this weather, and I really don't want to find out much more about living outdoors. I'm extremely well adjusted to a small home, I'm playful and naughty, I get on great with other cats and dogs, I can entertain myself all day without any company too and now I just want a family to call my own. I'm vaccinated and de-wormed and litter trained too. Say a silent prayer for them, their futures & pray hardest that at least some of them find a family. This was a classic case of "I don't want them in my building" and everything else that goes along with that line.. Moreover, it wasn't just a threat; the kittens with eyes unopened and umbilical cords still attached, were actually separated from the mother and put out on the streets in a tiny cardboard box and left to die; better still left to suffer a little bit first and then die.. To cut a long story short, they're with me at the moment. I know it's raining kittens and I know everyone handling animal welfare has some on their hands but if anyone can help out with relocating this entire family somewhere safe or with a foster/adopter or in short can perform any sort of miracle, please message me on 9820643128.
