To us, it is a street, a pavement, a park, a place we pass through. But to them, it is their home. It is the only home they have ever known. It’s the specific corner where they were born, the patch of sun they sleep in, the shopkeeper who gives them a biscuit, and the network of alleys that make up their entire world.
They are the silent companions for the lonely, the joyful greeting for the elderly, the fierce, unpaid guardians for their entire lane. For their “humans,” these dogs are family.
It is to tear a thinking, feeling being from the only life they understand, from the only humans they love, and to cast them into a terrifying, alien environment. They won’t understand. They will just grieve, confused and heartbroken, waiting for a family that is no longer there. This is not a solution, it is the breaking of a million bonds and a betrayal of the most innocent among us.

Supreme Court has ordered the complete removal of them from near educational institutions, bus and railway stations, sports facilities, as well as other public spaces, directing that they be relocated to dog shelters.

They should not be released to the same spot from which they were picked up.
