As another Beautiful festive season approaches, this post is a gentle caution for you to remember to keep all those chocolates up high away from your 4 legged babies 🍫

This little one was brought in after stealing and eating this entire box of chocolates 😱 Thankfully his parents quickly got him to us and we followed a protocol to get him to Vomit all of the chocolate out and make sure he safely goes home

🐈 BLOCKED CATS - What you need to know! 🐈

In a shocking incident we found an oriental Honey Buzzard shot by an air gun with the bullet stuck in the wing! 🦅

The bullet had caused massive injury to the bones of the left wing and joint leaving the poor bird unable to soar high

Our team has operated , removed the bullet and fixed the bones using a pinning technique and they are hopeful for a sp*edy recovery and wish to see a quick release of the bird

🐈 BRACHYCEPHALIC BREEDS 🐕

For pet parents having or planning on having short faced pets or Pugs , punch faced Persian cats, French bulldogs, boxers, Shihtzus and Lhasa Apsos

These breeds of dogs or cats have shortened snouts or faces that appear flat and as a result have narrow nostrils and smaller airways making it difficult to breathe normally.

These types of breeds are also predisposed to various eye issues, skin infections, dental disease, lung disease or pneumonia among other diseases

So what can we do to make them comfortable?
1. Regular Ophthalmic examination

2. Routine Dental examinations

3. Surgical removal of elongated soft palate

4. Widening of stenotic nares (increase the size of the nostrils)

5. Removal of large skin folds or cleaning these areas properly on a daily basis

6. Regular grooming and trimming of fur mainly around the eyes

7. Always do proper Research before getting any pet

🪙 All that Glitters is not Gold 🪙
Sometimes it could just be a Silver Earring

An Indian Star Tortoise, was presented with a history of anorexia, being dull, dehydrated and inactive.

On Radiological examination we were surprised to find what looked like an earring lodged in the stomach.

We rehydrated her and prepped for a celiotomy, She was placed under General Anaesthesia, and the earring was removed.

She showed improvement and increased activity from day 2 but was kept on only liquid diet along with meds for 5 days after which she was allowed to eat by herself.

45 days post surgery we removed the Bandage and the entire plastron had fused back perfectly.

She is a Star and living a happy life munching on all her favourite veggies ☘️
