It definitely gets extremely overwhelming when your dog shows aggressive behaviors but remember to understand and work as a unit together with your dog to manage the situation.
Acceptance, Right approach and Consistent efforts will make sure you get the desired results.

AGGRESSION PART 1:

Dogs use aggression as their last resort ( unless taught otherwise )
They do not have the intention to cause harm rather would do anything to avoid it naturally.
Aggressive dogs are often misunderstood.
In addition an incorrect diagnosis makes the situation worse putting the dog and family at risk!
This is our effort to break it down into simple language.

That is how our weekend looked doing homevisits all around the city!

Wakad ➡ Ravet ➡Thergaon ➡ Pimpri ➡ Kharadi

Simba has signed up for Behavior training and is doing great with his junior handler who spends all the time to understand his dog and set achievable goals 🧡

Chica finished his online group class in the Retriever Batch and is doing a few one on one sessions as the owner wants to fix a few handling errors she might be doing while working with him ❤

Oreo is a little munchkin but very naughty and boisterous too who has started his basic obedience with us and we shall address his puppy biting issues as we go! 💜

Toby is a super energetic dog who definitely has temperamental issues along with some raising mistakes which are leading to aggression hence we have made a plan for him to modify his behavior 💛

Luna was adopted by a very caring family and they are doing a combination of online and homevisit classes to get some discipline in place so as to build a healthy relationship 💚

A clear 100% recall is a necessity to walk your dog OFFLEASH!

We teach 2 options to the this:
1. In the 1st video you can see a formal recall where the dog has to immediately stop what he is doing and return to you and be sitting close to you, giving you eye contact through it all.
2. In the 2nd video you can see an informal recall where the dog can finish what he is doing and come when he wants while checking out everything else around.

P.S. I had NO other reward on me like treats or toys, nor did I have a long leash on my dog or anything else.

This is our current full batch of retrievers!!!

The topics covered in the first class were conflict-free raising of puppies, socialising them the right way and toilet training, puppy biting along with Separation Anxiety!

We also had one of our students who has graduated from Snout Scout School join the batch to learn about client handling and group class management.

The best part was we invited dogs from our alumni & to demonstrate the concepts that were taught and also talk about how our way of raising helped them create a wonderful relationship with their dogs not only at home but also while travelling out of the city!

Read... understand...and train the right way!! 🐕

: Today's expert tip is on basic command and obedience of your dog by Priyancka Patkki, a certified professional dog trainer and the founder of Snout Scout - The Dog Family.

There is a common myth among pet parents that one uses obedience only for control over dogs. People should never do that and should try to make obedience look fun for a dog. So when a parent asks the dog to sit using a command, a dog should feel happy doing that. Obedience should not feel like work to the dog. At some point yes, control needs to be established but make sure the dog enjoys the process.

The best time to practice obedience is during their mealtime. Carry a pouch with yourself for the treats as it’s better if the dog is close to you. Start with a luring exercise by taking a treat and making the dog follow your hand. This helps in getting the dog into different positions like sit and stand.

Whenever you use the ‘come’ command to call your dog, remember to reward the dog appropriately once he comes. Also, prefer not to use ‘come’ when the dog does something wrong but instead, use it as a recall every time so the dog can come to you. Don’t just reward the dog with treats but also use verbal appreciation or caress them. Always give the command in a very calm and polite manner.
