Thank you so much, Help Animals India, for creating this wonderful video highlighting our rescue and care of helpless animals over the past one year! We completely depend upon kind donors to continue our work, please give generously! 🙏
Oscar the dog has been with us since 2017, when his owner abandoned him due to a small maggot wound. We treated him for weeks and he completely recovered and since then, is quite a 'social butterfly', encouraging other residents to jump and play with the joy of life! Nowadays he loves to help round up the cattle.
Kind people at the Puttaparthi Fire Station found this paralysed small female puppy and brought her to us. Sometimes puppies recover from such injuries, we will give her a lot of care and hope for the best! THANK YOU to all of you for supporting our work, including our loyal donors Help Animals India and Mission Of Mercy! 🥰🙏
A male puppy, about 3-4 months old, was abandoned inside a basket. Our Secretary Narendra and Accountant Raji rescued him and admitted him as an inpatient, and he was treated for distemper. Now he is recovered and thriving! Thanks to YOUR ongoing donations, we are able to continue our important work! 🙏🥰🐹
Ankita/Anu Can Walk Now!
Ankita was born disabled and was found on the street by a well-wisher, a student of Sathya Sai Baba's school and classmate of our Secretary Narendra's daughter. Thanks to their efforts, Ankita was admitted as an inpatient. One of her two paralysed legs has improved and now she is running around happily! Another Karuna success story thanks to your ongoing donations which makes it possible! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
The Peacock is the most beautiful National bird of India, Schedule 1. From the last two months, we received 4 Peacocks (1 male and 3 female): two from Narpala village, one from Kalyandurg range, and one from Bukkapatnam range, Puttaparthi. We received all the birds in a similar condition, partially paralyzed, could not fly and stand, loose motions with dehydration and in serious condition. So, we carefully treated all of them; however unfortunately we couldn’t save one peacock and she died. After recovery with good health and certified by our veterinarian, the other three were successfully released in the same location where they were originally found, in the presence of local authorities.
The last Peacock was released by me, C. Narendra Reddy, Secretary of Karuna Society. I went to Narpala village at a distance of 80 km with Shiva (a volunteer). I observed there are many commercial crops in the middle of mango, orange and banana gardens like beans, chilly, peanuts, cowpeas etc., so the birds can roam very freely to eat. I observed that there is a lot of pesticide spraying. In my personal opinion, they may get seasonal diseases or be affected by pesticides. Farmers are very friendly with birds and wild animals. If they find any birds that fall in their gardens, they immediately inform us and bring the animal with their own expense. When I released the last bird she was very happy and the farmers were also happy to see her fly again! I advised them to take care when giving pesticides to the crops and try to change the farming to organic.
We currently have 7 donkeys and 7 horses, all rescued from a life of hard labor, abuse, hunger and injuries. Now their open wounds are healed and they live a happy life, pain-free, rolling around playfully and interacting with each other!
Thanks to the donors of Help Animals India, we could give our cats a treat of balls to play with, and a water fountain to drink fresh water! THANK YOU, everyone! 🙏🥳
