What do you use to clean your pet or their wound? What anti-septic do you use to clean?
Anti-septics commonly used by us [e.g. Dettol/ Savlon] are harsh on our furry's skin. Why? Our furry's skin are thin and sensitive. So these chemicals may have an adverse reaction on their skin. A lot of them also show sensitivity to anti-septics that are used as floor cleaners/ disinfectants.
What is the safest anti-septic that you can use?
BETADINE SOLUTION.
Betadine can be used diluted in water for regular cleansing after walks. It can also be used in case of wounds, injuries to the skin or to apply on rash as a first aid before visiting your Vet.

Have you been observing your pup enough to know what they are saying just by looking at them?
Like us, pups also communicate. Their language of communication is not the same as ours, but it's beautiful once you understand it.
Vocalizing, using body language, soft growls, snarls, the position of the tail, and the best is their eyes.
If you have observed your pup every day, you will know exactly what they are trying to tell you.
Vets always suggest that a good ethical breeder will also insist that the pup should live with its mom and siblings until the age of 60 days. In this period, the mom teaches them to become independent of her, control the biting, teaching basic manners, body language for communication, and more....

If you choose to allow your pup to interact with other dogs, certain criteria you need to check:
- health of both dogs
tick flea control for both dogs
- temperament of both dogs
- reactivity of both dogs

You have been the strong wall I needed from the day I adopted you, rather you accepted me.
I love you baby boy Miguel. My first baby. My everything. The love of my life.
I can't imagine a time without you. I can't imagine life if you weren't part of it.
You are everything I wanted, needed.
I miss you everyday. I miss you yelling at me for reaching home late, i miss your meows every morning to wake me up. I miss you sleeping on my chest, i miss your licks, i miss everything about you. and I were like your devotees to fulfill every wish. Very proudly I can say we tried to do everything as accurately as we could.
I know you are in a better place, pain free, with the mud you loved, with all the food/treats you liked, with the water you liked to dirty yourself in.
I am grateful to everyone who was part of your journey. Starting with .lennox who rescued you. and who were your perima's in taking care of you during internship. You have given each of us a heart attack in that period.
and I are more than grateful to our parents who loved you more than us, took you in and even sneaked you into hotels during travel. The 4 of us love you and still talk about you when we meet people. You were the best thing for us. that you loved so purely. Many other people's lives that you touched through your journey on this Earth.
You were so strong. You stayed until you thought we needed you. You were here to support all of us with all the strength you had and more.
I will meet you beyond the rainbow. Until then, bless all of us under your shield and give us the strength to find our path in this world.

You always tend to use Google search to look for answers. Is it wrong?
No
It's not wrong to look for something you don't know. But when we look for something, we should make sure the source is reliable.
It is not necessary that what we read or watch is going to be scientifically true.
Checking credentials of the person sharing information and checking facts from research journals will make sure the answers you are looking for are accurate and helpful.
Watching Google/YouTube videos/just "this worked for my pet" doesn't certify someone.

For example,
If you are seeking medical help, make sure the source is either a veterinarian or a veterinary journal only.
If you are looking for tips and tricks for training your dog, the source should be a Certified Trainer (certifications are received only after they undergo training with a professional and fulfill the requirements).
Be careful, stay safe.

Does you dog keep itching itself?

Does your dog's skin get red sometimes? Do you want to know what needs to be done as a first aid before visiting the vet?

Dogs can develop itching because of allergy to food/external parasites, season change, anxiety/stress, fungal/mixed infection, atopy and some more..

The skin is the largest organ that needs to be taken care with food, supplements. Did you know that household temporary remedy to itching is Coconut oil.

Coconut oil can be used to apply on the body as a massage before bath on a regular basis. This can also be used in the middle of the week for temporary itch relief. The oil application on the body will only give temporary relief. Do book an appointment with your vet at the earliest in case of excessive itching/allergic reaction.

Coconut oil can be used to cook their home made meals. While boiling the chicken/mutton or for scrambled eggs or to shallow fry fish, cooking veggies coconut oil can be used.

This summer heat is intolerable for all of us, more for our fur babies. It may be highly tempting to shave our pets, it is advisable not to shave your pet to their skin.
For hygiene and grooming, you can give them a trim.
For tackling summer heat, regularly groom your puppy , provide them shady space and ample amount of water.

Diwali was meant to be celebrated as a festival of lights. Off late it has become a festival of fear and noise for animals. The noise and the smoke is now causing more harm. Every vet in your area will be able to vouch for this experience that I am sharing. Pets and community animals in your area are shivering, running, hiding, not eating properly, all this because you want to celebrate with the noise. Meet Floppy, our otherwise very friendly, loving and happy puppy. This is his second Diwali. Both years, he has been shivering, panting like this. He doesn't eat, drink water, walk or play during these days of noise. He chooses not to leave, and even if we force him out, we are worried he will meet with an accident in this fear. He may run off somewhere far and get dislocated from his area. Can you call it celebration if someone else is suffering because of your noise? Can you call it celebration if someone else is not able to live peacefully? Can we please start celebrating this festival of lights with only a lot of diyas, kandils, sequence lights, sweets, gatherings filled with happiness and not with this noise and smoke pollution? This is an earnest request from the bottom of my heart to please be considerate about the animals around. If you don't resonate with animals and their well being, it's ok. But can you then be considerate for the people around with asthma, heart conditions, small children, pregnant individuals and individuals with various other conditions?
