I, Mahesh Jayagopu, had begun my kennel establishment, Mastercraft LABRADORS located at Muttathara, Trivandrum(Kerala – India ) in 2010. The name of my kennel has its origin from the first letter of my name and the fact that my favourite breed is the Labrador. My preferred standard is the UK bloodlines. Apart from this, there are the International Breed Standard UK (FCI) ,USA (AKC), CKC, ANKC, NZKC as Labrador standards. My focus is mainly on the UK standards. I also update in International Dog Shows Crufts, Westminister (USA) and Potomac (USA).My type stands out in ‘UK’. I undertake breeding from different parts of India and I am proud to say that till date (2020), Mastercraft has three Indian Champions to its name. We are active in conformation shows .Currently we have with us about 10 Labradors varying from a few months old to the old timers. My adventure with this marvelous breed began with a lovely pet quality boy who was KCI registered as "Benromes carnivel”. I called him Arjun. He was of UK lineage and was a wonderfully smart boy, quite active, but he did not properly conform to the FCI breed standards. My first traditional type English show Labrador was a Yellow girl KCI registered as "IND CH Rightways beautiful at mastercraft aka Shaira” . This was the turning point of my breeding programs and show rings. She came to me at the age of 2 and all our Dogs share her line of descended
When we breed a litter of puppies we aim for the best show potential puppy. Sometimes we keep the puppies from a litter and continuously evaluate them as they grow. We have always strived to produce puppies, which are better than their sire/dam and with the potential to become our next Champion. All our puppies are born and raised in a home environment and get a lot of attention and socialization. The pups we have available for sale, go to selected homes desirous of a healthy and sound family companion. They are vaccinated ,wormed , micro chipped and Vet checked before leaving us.
We feed them exclusively Royal Canin pet food . Every puppy goes to their new home with a Royal canin Maxi Puppy Starter Kit. These kits include a comprehensive puppy care guide, health record, puppy food sample bag and placeholders for breed specific information, photos, pedigree and more. Correct Labrador Type, temperament and structural soundness are top priorities in our breeding program. Since we keep the first breeding for ourselves we desire to produce Labradors with the correct breed type. Temperament is also of utmost importance and is one of the hallmarks of the Labrador retriever. Majority of our puppies go to show homes. A true Labrador will NEVER show aggression.
