Such fun, to watch these primates. They two young ones refuse to eat bananas. They eat saapad( rice ,milk, dhal). The older one, was rescued a week back, badly injured, maybe a sling shot by miscreants. He is happy eating his favourite fruit.

A rescue by Arunachala Animal Sanctuary and Rescue Shelter. This dog was found near a school on the outskirts of the main town. Its head was gaping open and filled with maggots. The dog whisperer, Pandian went to rescue. The horrific pics are not palatable. Posting the just pics of the dog in question. Who hit or stoned the dog to create the gaping wound and then came the maggots. He was taken care of. Maggots removed, the wound cleaned, disinfected, stitches. Now in a seperate enclosure for post care as he is not friendly, hurt and abuse, brings that anger and fear to the foreground. Dear Readers, as you are aware, ...Happy endings begin with you, Now. This morning at the outpatient section a dog was lying on the table, and its hair being cut bit by bit. This is àn old dog, suffering from tick fever and maggots. And going blind. Dr. RAJA, Dr. MAHESH, The supervisor Raja and the owner, who seems to be a seeking wanderer, all overseeing the dog. It is most likely to recover and get its sight back, once the ticks and maggots are removed. Good care post the cleaning goes a long way. This is the dedication of the team work, compassion and a big dollops of love.

From late tonight, heavy rains to start again in Thiruvanamalai and as per the forecast, last for 3 days and then moves on.

During the month of October 2024, the Arunachala Animal Sanctuary and Rescue Shelter , has sterilised 37 DOGS. 1109 OUTPATIENTS HAVE BEEN ATTENDED TO. 55 DOGS HAVE BEEN RESCUED.
Request all followers and friends, to open your hearts and wallets. Heavy rains expected, we need help , help and more help. This is an appeal to Donate with generosity.

Without the dedication of the people working at the Arunachala Animal Sanctuary and Rescue Shelter , the place would collapse. Pandian , one such person is referred to as "the dog whisperer". He has been at the shelter as a young lad, spending time, and grew up to join as a full time staff member. More posts on the team members. Kudos to them. Donate, most kindly, keep the wheels turning. Donny the Donkey and Mani the Horse, continue to thrive at the Arunachala Animal Sanctuary and Rescue Shelter . They have become besties. Lakshu, is a much loved dog. Overweight and loving it...then, forgetting her weight issues, she ran down a flight of stairs , tripped, fell and fractured both her front paw, ankles, her owners brought her and the poor thing will be in a cast for awhile. Trust, her owners, now at least monitor her food intake and when Lakshu heals,she is taken for walks, unfortunately in Thiruvanamalai, there is no exercise pool for dogs. Good luck to Lakshu. And a speedy recovery. All treatment comes free ,with love and attention and care.
