A total no.of 55 students of Barmongrajpur Primary School and Allhadi Drawing School, participated in the quiz competition and drawing competition arranged on the occasion of 'World Wetlands Day' at the Garchumuk Zoological Park.

Garchumuk Zoological Garden-Mini Zoo conducted a cleanliness program at the Zoo premises, to mark the cleanliness drive- "Swachhata Hi Seva".
From today Garchumuk Zoo has been declared as a 'Single Use Plastic Free Zone '.

Garchumuk Zoological Garden has organized a two days state level training programme on " safe handling and rehabilitation of commonly rescued and seized animals" on 28th and 29 th August, 2023.
All about 47 nos. of staffs from different zoos i.e. Alipore Zoological Garden, Bardhaman Zoological Park, Sundarban Wild Animal Park, Surulia Mini Zoo, Jungle Mahal Zoo, Jhargram and rescue staffs of Howrah forest division, local rescuers all are wholeheartedly participate to successful this training programme.
Special thanks to our resource persons Shri Anirban Chaudhuri and our respected DFO Madam Shrimati Niranjita Mitra for their valuable speech.

After a month-long program on Mission LiFE,Garchumuk Zoological Garden celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June, 2023. Rally , Sit & draw competition, Quiz competition and Nature walk were organisedvwith school students and under privileged kids. A small display made with used plastic was also done with the theme of Beat plastic pollution. A talk on snakes and local animals was also organised.The Programme ended successfully with Tree plantation ceremony and oath taking.

After conducting series of small programmes of Mission LiFE, Howrah Forest Division & Garchumuk Zoological Garden has organized a massive awareness campaign at different parts of Bagnan under Howrah Forest Division on 2 nd June, 2023, the day just before World Bicycle Day to fulfill the LiFE( Lifestyle for Environment) mission. Forest staffs & zoo staffs, Members of Bagnan Yubak Brinda, Students of Allahadi Drawing School, Children actors of Khardah Nabaranga Natya Gosthi, local communities all have wholeheartedly taken part in this camping. Khardah Nabaranga Natya Gosthi has also performed a play focusing on saving biodiversity & nature for better future. A cycle rally was also organised with children of different age groups that help to generate immense awareness among local communities. The programme successfully ended with taking the oath for nurturing the mother Earth for better future.

Today on the occasion of World Turtle Day, 2023, Garchumuk Zoological Garden has organised a State level "One day hands on workshop on identification, husbandry and safe handling of freshwater turtle and tortoise (FTTs)" for the scientific and field staffs of different zoos under West Bengal Zoo Authority.
The workshop has been a great success with the presence of eminent herpetologist Shri Anirban Chaudhuri.
In this state level workshop, a total no.of 45 staff from 5 different zoos took part and learnt the procedure of turtle and tortoise handling and upkeeping.

Today on the occasion of World Wildlife Day 2023, a programme was organised by Garchumuk Zoological Garden. 53 students from Barmangrajpur Primary School, Kharia Moynapur High School, Birshibpur Shiksha Niketan school have participated in the program.
They took part in the Drawing competition, quiz competition, story writing and Nature walk.The students also enjoyed the discussion with the Director and keepers' talk.
Our Zoo has tried to establish a beautiful bond between children & wildlife.For the very first time they were taught how to rescue turtles and what to do during straying of urban wildlife. The programme ended with the oath to protect nature and wildlife.
