The food they eat. Rice and chicken. Boiled. Would make for a superior gym diet.

For us, barish often means chai, pakoda, long drives, playing in the rain. 🌧️ But for animals living on the streets, the same rain is not fun — it is a fight for survival.

When heavy rain or flood comes, people get rescue teams, shelters, food packets and medical help. But animals? Nobody comes for them. Stray dogs, cats, cows, horses, donkeys, all are left to suffer silently. They don’t have a roof to hide, they don’t have dry food to eat, and they don’t have warm clothes to protect themselves. Many small puppies and kittens even lose their lives in cold water.

Nature’s disasters don’t choose — humans and animals both suffer. But the difference is: humans get help, animals don’t. And still, they wait quietly, hiding under cars, broken houses or anywhere they can find a little dry space.

We at Manali Strays see this pain every day. That is why our work becomes even more important during rains. Rescuing, feeding and treating animals in bad weather is not easy, but it is needed.

Next time when you enjoy rain, please remember the voiceless who are struggling in it. If you can, put out a bowl of food or give shelter to even one animal. For them, your small act can mean the world. ❤️

Every time you step into a shelter, tails wag, eyes light up, and little hearts feel seen. 🐶✨ It doesn’t take much — just a visit, a gentle pat, or even sitting with them for a while. For these dogs, your presence is pure joy, and for you, it’s a reminder of the unconditional love they carry. 🐾💛 Visit a shelter, spread a little happiness — you’ll be surprised how much love you take back home with you.

Two kids unaware of hate. 🐾❤️

A little girl and a little pup, both the same age, both discovering the world with the same wide-eyed innocence. Neither knows fear, anger, or cruelty. What they do know, instinctively, is love.

And that’s the truth we often forget. Hate is not natural, it’s taught. Fear is not innate, it’s passed down. Love, on the other hand, comes with birth. Children show us this every day.

In Delhi, and across the country, conversations around street dogs have been drowning in anger and fear. But maybe it’s time we paused and looked closer. A child doesn’t see a “threat.” She sees a playmate. A puppy doesn’t see an “enemy.” He sees a friend.

If we nurtured this innocence instead of losing it, coexistence wouldn’t feel like a challenge, it would be second nature.

We don’t need to teach children how to love animals. We need to unlearn the hate we’ve picked up along the way.

For the last 4–5 days, it has been raining non-stop in Himachal. Roads have broken, landslides are happening everywhere, and even big highways have been washed away. People are suffering in this disaster, but what breaks our heart the most is that animals are suffering silently.

They cannot ask for help. If they are washed away, buried under a landslide, hungry, or cold, no one knows, no one cares. We are trying our best to reach wherever we can. Many times, we even go on foot when the roads are blocked. Still, it feels like no matter how much we do, it is not enough.

There is no petrol in many places, and where it is available, it is too expensive and far away. Vehicles are breaking down, and trees or rocks fall suddenly while traveling, yet we continue because someone has to think about these voiceless beings.

Even the rescued animals in our care are struggling. Gas cylinders are finished, ration in the markets is running out, and we are cooking only once a day. Half of our local staff is stuck at their homes because buses are not running, and taxis are too costly for them.

This is one of the hardest times we have faced. Please help us so we can continue saving lives. Even your smallest support can mean survival for these animals. Donation link in bio.

⚠️ Ivermectin Toxicity in Dogs & Cats – A Small Mistake Can Take Their Life!

Every day we are seeing more and more heartbreaking cases of Ivermectin toxicity in dogs and cats. Many pet owners and even well-meaning people trying to help stray dogs end up giving Ivermectin tablets without a vet’s prescription.

But what happens after this?
• Dogs become blind
• They suffer from seizures
• They struggle to walk
• And in many cases… they even die

Why does this happen? Because Ivermectin is extremely toxic in the wrong dose. A puppy weighing only a few kilos is often given the same dose meant for a 20–30 kg dog. This is nothing less than poison for them.

Important to remember:
• Ivermectin is not for all skin problems.
• It is used only for one specific condition – mange.
• Mange can only be diagnosed properly through a microscopic test.

Skin issues in dogs can be caused by fleas, allergies, bacteria, or fungal infections – none of which are treated with Ivermectin. Giving it blindly can kill your pet or a stray you were trying to help.

What should you do instead?
• Always take your pet to a qualified veterinarian.
• Never give Ivermectin to cats.
• For stray dogs, if you cannot take them to a vet, you may consider safer alternatives like Nexgard or Bravecto (but only in the correct weight-based dose).
• Remember: Bravecto is only for dogs above 6 months of age.

Your love and concern should save lives, not put them in danger. Please share this video widely so more people stop making this deadly mistake.

Who is at fault? Dogs or the system? 💔

When a judge asked, “Can animal activists bring back the child who died of rabies?” - the question cut deep.

But here’s what no one is asking:
👉 Can the government bring back the 82,000 children under 5 who die every year in India due to preventable injuries?
👉 The 20,000 kids lost annually to falls from rooftops, pits, and unsafe surroundings?
👉 The children who fall into unsealed borewells, open drains, and sewage holes?

These tragedies aren’t caused by dogs. They are caused by negligence, unsafe environments, and a broken system.

And let’s not forget:
If the Indian education system included basic lessons on rabies prevention - how to wash a bite wound and get vaccinated - rabies deaths could be prevented too.

Blaming stray dogs may make headlines.
But fixing real systemic failures is what will actually save children’s lives.

"Kyu let the dogs out?" they ask.
Well, here’s the answer 👇

This is what dogs do when they’re “out” - roll in the grass, play, wag their tails, spread joy. 🐾💚

But biased headlines paint them as monsters, turning innocence into menace just for TRPs. 📺
And today, because of such fear-mongering, our Supreme Court has decided that Delhi’s streets shouldn’t have dogs at all.

A playful back rub becomes a “threat.”
A wagging tail becomes “danger.”
A loyal friend becomes a “nuisance.”

It’s not the dogs who are the problem.
It’s the narrative.
