Trapped in the Dark: The 30-Foot Well Rescue

Late at night, a call came in — a dog had fallen into a 30-foot-deep well.
Just imagine… hearing your pet’s screams echoing from such darkness.
What would you do?

Without thinking twice, our team rushed into the night.
When we reached, we saw the broken mesh — that’s how he had jumped inside.
The well was deep… dangerously deep.
One wrong step, and it could have been a tragedy.

With ropes, courage, and teamwork, we climbed down —
every second filled with fear, but also with hope.
Finally, after a tense struggle, the dog was pulled out safely.
No injuries. No pain. Just pure relief.

This rescue wasn’t just about saving one life —
it was a reminder that compassion still exists.
Every cry matters. Every life matters.

🐾 To the one who survived the night —
Go, live your life freely again. ❤️

He Just Sees Friends Not Strays❤️

In a world that forgets kindness every day… this little soul reminds us that love doesn’t need words. 🕊️
He doesn’t see strays or breeds — he just sees friends.
Maybe if we all had a heart like his, no dog would ever feel alone again. ❤️
Let’s learn from the purity of a child and the loyalty of a dog — both love without judgment, both heal without asking anything in return. 🐾

Spread the words! 🙏🏻

When we got the call about a dog with both eyes popped out, we couldn’t believe what we were hearing. We rushed to the spot, and there he was sitting quietly in a corner, bleeding, confused, and blind. He wasn’t crying, just sitting still as if trying to understand what he did wrong to deserve this. 💔

We brought him to our hospital, where our doctors immediately gave him painkillers and started treatment. Sadly, his eyes couldn’t be saved, they had already started decaying. The next day, Neo went through surgery and lost both his eyes forever.

But even after everything, Neo never lost his calm. He never growled, never got defensive. He trusts people, listens to voices, tilts his head when we call him, and wags his tail every time someone comes near. He is learning to walk again, learning to live again without sight, but with endless courage.

Neo deserves a home where he can feel love and safety again. We are a hospital, and we don’t want him to live within four walls any longer. Please help us find him a family that will show him that kindness still exists.

Share this post, talk about Neo, and help him find the home he’s waiting for. 💔🐾

🥣 Just ₹30 = One Meal for a Rescued Soul 🐾❤️

“Foola ji, how much for this ₹30 food bowl?”
“Arre, ₹30 only!”
What started as a small joke in our shelter kitchen, actually says a lot.

At our rescue shelter, over 100 bowls of food are served daily, 50 in the morning and 50 in the evening to animals who have already suffered enough on the streets. 🐕🐾 Some come to us injured, abandoned, or sick… and all they ask for is love, care, and a full stomach.

But keeping so many rescued animals healthy and fed isn’t easy. Our monthly food cost alone reaches around ₹1 lakh. 💔

The truth is just ₹30 sponsors one wholesome meal. Something so small for us, yet so big for them. ✨

👉 How you can help:
• Visit our animal rescue centre and sponsor a meal directly 🥘
• Support us with a donation 🐾
• Or simply DM / call us to know more 💌

In Kaza, Spiti, a serious issue was growing — increasing dog population and the rising human-dog conflict. Many times, such problems are seen as something to be solved quickly, without thinking of the lives of the animals. But this time, something different happened.

The Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Kaza decided to choose the most compassionate and ethical way. Instead of harmful measures, she invited Manali Strays to help with a sterilisation camp. With the support of the Animal Husbandry Department of Spiti, more than 200 dogs were sterilised.

She said something very important — “If you cannot catch a dog properly, how will you ever manage to give them post-surgery care?” That is why our team’s experience in humane catching was so valuable. Along with sterilisation, Manali Strays also ensured food was provided to the dogs who went through surgery, so that they could recover with comfort and dignity.

It is rare to see government officials taking such a sensitive, long-term approach. But this effort shows what true leadership looks like — solving a problem in a way that protects both humans and animals.

Kaza is lucky to have an SDM with such vision. And we are deeply thankful to the Animal Husbandry Department of Spiti for making this possible.

This is how real change begins — with compassion, planning, and teamwork.

Shout out to everyone who made it possible. You all are the best .tenz ._.verma_

Some gifts change everything. 💛

Thanks to Capco, our clinic now has advanced equipment that lets us monitor, diagnose, and treat animals with the same precision you’d expect in a human hospital. From real-time patient monitors, to life-saving infusion pumps, to shadowless surgical lights and diagnostic tools - every machine makes our work smarter, safer, and more effective.

This is the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): when companies choose to support NGOs, they don’t just donate - they help raise the standards of care and save countless lives.

✨ Thank you, Capco, for making our job easier and our animals safer.

Isn’t Omega the best name for a dog?

The food they eat. Rice and chicken. Boiled. Would make for a superior gym diet.

For us, barish often means chai, pakoda, long drives, playing in the rain. 🌧️ But for animals living on the streets, the same rain is not fun — it is a fight for survival.

When heavy rain or flood comes, people get rescue teams, shelters, food packets and medical help. But animals? Nobody comes for them. Stray dogs, cats, cows, horses, donkeys, all are left to suffer silently. They don’t have a roof to hide, they don’t have dry food to eat, and they don’t have warm clothes to protect themselves. Many small puppies and kittens even lose their lives in cold water.

Nature’s disasters don’t choose — humans and animals both suffer. But the difference is: humans get help, animals don’t. And still, they wait quietly, hiding under cars, broken houses or anywhere they can find a little dry space.

We at Manali Strays see this pain every day. That is why our work becomes even more important during rains. Rescuing, feeding and treating animals in bad weather is not easy, but it is needed.

Next time when you enjoy rain, please remember the voiceless who are struggling in it. If you can, put out a bowl of food or give shelter to even one animal. For them, your small act can mean the world. ❤️

Dear followers,

You may notice some videos being posted in collaboration with .sensei. These will be extra videos in addition to our usual content and are a way for you to see a bit more behind the scenes at Manali Strays and meet the animals that you have helped to heal and save the lives of... all in a fun format. Don't worry, we will still be posting rescues, informative, educational, and awareness videos as well. We just felt like mixing things up a bit.
