Namaste mi, Subash!

Subash is our local coconut and tadgola tree climber. You can recoginse him in the villages of Uran by the gamcha on his head, koyto (coconut sickle) tied to his waist, and of course his hot pink bicycle. He's hard to miss really, and quite sought after by the villagers.

The curious thing about Subash is that he isn't from the Konkan, but from a village in Bihar. He comes from a clan of legacy toddy tappers. Now he basically does the job that no one wants to do here anymore - climb up to get us the fruits we all enjoy.

Our pint-sized daredevil, climbs old school aka just with the help of rope band on his feet + lith muscle power. He's been harvesting for us since 10years, long enough to see the produce become fully organic, after Rohan decided to leave industrial fertilizers far behind.

"Hamra nariyal, Uran ka sabese acha nariyal" he says, always smiling. Show his some love, ya'll because Subash is sabse best!

Making EVERYTHING spicy?
Almost!

My duties at include helping with housekeeping + kitchen duties. I cook local, authentic Marathi fare, with madam at my elbow. My MIL is the village bhakri-maker and she's taught me all the secrets to her labour-of-love, hand-patted technique of making rice, jowar and nanchni bhakris.

They say, I make the best adrak and freshly-cut lemon grass, chai. I say, mag kai?

Mie, Kishan Mama. But they call me Super K.

After working most of my life at Skol Brewery (known for Hayward's) in the neighbouring village, I decided to go back to traditional farming like my ancestors at 6 years ago.

My duties include growing our seasonal, desi vegetable crop, finding local, foraged food - last year, I even found edible, wild mushrooms growing on the wadi. I'm the grounds keeper, tree-planter, dip pool-mainatance guy, the porter and the bane of Coconut's existence.

How? By keeping her on her toes, alert.

After working around the clock in advertising for 10+ years... I now, farm away my time.

I'm the good cop aka front of house, general manager, handyman, local guide and in-house eggspert at brekkie. On some days, I'm even a doggie & kid whisperer.

I'm Jharna co-founder, chef, F&B writer and host.

My duties at include being the best mom to Coconut, socials, bookings, cookings (lunch & dinner), servings, housekeepings, ideatings, collab-in-charge, tree namer et hugger. Bad cop.

Think of me as your grumpy granny, the kind who hates leftovers, and our farmstay as visiting your Nani or Dadis'.

MEALS AT FERNANDES WADI
We live, eat and serve seasonal spreads in a table d'hôte format. No menu, just a personally curated table of the host meal where nature decides the vegetable, catch or meat of-the-day.

The cuisines you'll eat include my Kutchi & Gujarati family recipes, Rohan's Goan besides regional Marathi preparations.

With 48hrs advance notice, I can cook for you:

1. SIMPLE farm-to-table (Rs 1,000)
2. FULL farm-to-table (Rs 2,000)
3. BBQ, in season (Rs 2,000)
4. Asian (Rs 1,500)
5. Continental (Rs 1,500)
6. Popti, in season (Rs 1,000)

- Children between 5 and 10 are charged half rate
- Prices indicated are per person, per meal

Hi all, I'm Coconut Fernandes! My folks, vet say: I'm part indie, part hound. I, wholly don't care.

My duties at include being the welcome committee, official kiddie-walker, grass chomper, strike a poser and lastly, queenly muse.

My kingdom is small but my heart and eyes are big so... I'm happy to share my Wadi, with 'some' dogs.

Oh by the way, only one room in the house is pet-friendly, IE, the Private Balcão Suite. It's located on the ground floor and has a separate door through the balcão.

My mum - obviously 🐶 - has a few doggie rules that she can share with your folks.

Lastly, darlings, we levy a damages deposit (Airbnb bookings are exempt) and pet boarding charge of Rs 500, per dog, per night. Something about heirloom furniture...
