I have always been very interested in gundogs and when I went to England as a young boy and saw retrievers at work I fell in love with this breed. My first trial dog was a Labrador retriever called FTCH Black Bullock (Bullet) and I started trialing him in 1989 and he became a FT Champion. I kept a son of Bullet, Kenzo, who also became a Field Trial Champion. Italian and

International FTCH Waterfriend Lark was another dog I enjoyed a lot and he was bred by me. I bought her at the age of 10 months in the Uk from Carole Clark and I won really everything with her : the Cup d’Europe field trial in Austria, the ICC in France and many field trials and working tests all over Europe. FtCh Caffrey of Morayglen “Tag” was another successful dog I ran until recently. Tag won many trials and working tests in Europe and he won a Novice field trial in the UK and the ICC in Finland. His sister It. FtCh Greenbriar Schnapps of Morayglen was also one of the best gamefinders I have ever had. I am currently running Int & It. Ft.Ch. Waterfriend Carthago bred by me who is already Italian and International Field Trial Champion. I started my own line of working Labradors out of English working bloodlines called Waterfriend Labradors many years ago. I am a passionate gunman and I enjoy shooting and picking up with my dogs. Stefano has also been a professional gundog trainer for over 25 years. He trains dogs for field trials but also for the shooting field. He has spent a lot of time training with some of the best trainers in the UK and in USA and since then he has developed a firm training philosophy that encompasses the many styles and techniques he has observed over his lifetime association with dogs and trainers. Temperament, attitude and natural qualities all determine how we approach the final goal of a top rated gundog. Stefano trains the handler how to train and read their dogs to achieve such goal. He likes to train dogs in small steps, little by little, always making sure they never lose confidence in what he asks them to do. Building up the dogs’ confidence and their respect for their handler are vital points. He likes to bring a dog to its maximum potential and find a way into his mind.
