Dall'incontro con quel piccolo tesoro, Tea, è iniziato un cammino di ricerca, studio, lavoro, impegno, tirocinio sul fronte dell'allevamento, della psicologia canina, dell'educazione cinofila, dello studio approfondito della razza da me tanto amata. La grande passione per il cavalier king charles spaniel mi vede impegnata in una continua ricerca sulle origini, la storia, gli standards, l'allevamento, la selezione, le patologie genetiche. Ho avuto in questi anni di studio e ricerca la possibilità di conoscere personalmente tutti gli allevatori ENCI ed alcuni amatoriali italiani. Attraverso questi incontri ho avuto l'occasione di apprezzare la selezione seria e competente di qualcuno tra loro. A questi pochi, alla loro passione per la razza, legata al rispetto per i lavoro di chi li ha preceduti nel mondo nella ricerca della tipicità dei caratteri, sono grata per avermi dato la possibilità di approfondire le mie conoscenze ed accrescere, se possibile, il mio amore per questa splendida razza. From the meeting with this little treasure, Tea, began a process of seeking, study, work, effort, training on breeding, dog’s psychology, canine education, detailed study of the breed I loved so much. The greatest passion for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel bind me in a constant research on the origins, history, standards, breeding, selection, genetic disorders. In these years of study and research, I had the opportunity to meet all breeders ENCI, and some Italian breeders beginners. Through these meetings I had the opportunity to appreciate the serious and competentselection of any of them. To these few, to their passion for the breed, linked to respect for the work of their predecessors in the world in research of typical characters, I am grateful for giving me the chance to deepen my knowledge, and improve, if as possible, my love for this wonderful breed.

A wake-up call!
This Wednesday, October 11th, 2023, the international Cavalier world was received the hardest blow ever! At 12.55 the Supreme Court of Norway signed a verdict that prohibits the breeding and registration of the breed in Norway.
An international tsunami of compassion and sympathy engulfed the Norwegian breeders, whose lives and kennels were destroyed by the verdict. Frustration and anger followed closely behind. Likewise in Denmark, as a great deal of us have close personal contacts within Norway..
What can the international Cavalier community do to ensure that this ban does not spread to other countries' Cavaliers?
Deep down all of us know the answer well: As national Cavalier Clubs, it is our responsibility to ensure that we produce healthy pups, that stays healthy throughout long and pleasant lives. It's about hearts and brains; about MMVD and SM.
The time has calls for responsible breeding, for evidence-based breeding programs aimed at reducing the prevalence of SM and MMVD. The time has come to reach beyond national borders, to share knowledge and to help and support each other internationally.

Denmark:
Due diligence and the will to make tough decisions always been the characteristics of our work for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
In Denmark, our dedicated breeders have worked purposefully for 30 years to secure our breeding program for MMVD. The program is recognized as the world's best MMVD breeding program, and it has ensured good hearts and long lives for our dogs.
In 2014, the same dedication initiated targeted and systematic breeding to reduce the occurrence of SM. With success. We are ready to help other countries and we are ready to become even better.

Our appeal to the international community of Cavaliers:
Let’s turn the tragedy, that struck the Norwegian Cavaliers into something that will benefit all Cavaliers! Let's unite to ensure healthy cavaliers worldwide. Then and only then the Cavaliers will survive as a breed, and in the future we may still look into the eyes of our Cavalier and see the world’s most beautiful soul.
