Once again, our annual Photo of the Year competition has showcased some truly outstanding rescue training images from around the world. The support, sharing and voting from our global rescue community has been incredible - thank you to everyone who took part ❤️
After counting all the votes, one photo captured hearts more than any other, and we’re delighted to announce this year’s winners…

This powerful image, shot by Valentia Cagnoni, shows two rescue swimmers working alongside their highly trained rescue dogs, towing a Man Overboard manikin through the water. It perfectly highlights teamwork, realism in training, and the unique bond between handlers and their dogs - and let’s be honest, everyone loves a dog in action 🐶💪
What made this entry even more special was the incredible level of engagement and support from the SICS community. Seeing a team rally around their training and proudly share their work is exactly what this competition is all about.
