10 years.
My friend, as soon as you entered this house I feared the moment of our possible "separation", but I had the maximum target of the "ten years", the average standard of life for a large dog like you. You have had a fairly stable health in these beautiful years, apart from some inconvenience then solved: a slightly delicate stomach, an annoying dermatitis, that stupid thing in the nose ... 🌾
10 years of sweet taste, that of a goal and a conquest we got, although I would have dreamed, of course, to see you achieving an extra target and a unexpected longevity... But it went really well, nonetheless. 🏆
10 years with a bitter aftertaste.
Rather bitter, that of an enemy that has nestled in your body over the last couple of months... just in that sweet face. An ugly, dark stain that is spreading behind your truffle nose. A malignant scaly carcinoma, a damned invincible opponent.
We can try to counteract his progress a little, we can try to ease the pain but I know that at some point the inevitable will happen and we’ll have to let you go. 💔
10 amazing years.
Today I just want to celebrate you and still enjoy your wonderful company, your unchanged energy and joy. Yes, because despite everything, you are still in shape and, apart from some breathless breathing, some sneezing and some nosebleeds, you still do not have the tangible signs of the tragedy you are experiencing and that you fortunately ignore completely.
We have gifts that can make you happy, a maxi pillow that I sewed and decorated for you, a nice life jacket from Mat and some delicious sausages.
We will go out for nice walks by the sea or other places where you can run and smell as long as you can smell.
I only want to count the good days.
So best wishes, my dearest friend.
Cheers to you, to the years of unconditional love, your incredible patience and your irreplaceable company.🥳

So it’s been a week. 💔 A strange and empty week... difficult to get used to this absence... you were everywhere and you always put yourself in the middle, whatever we did... even the seasonal change has been different without having to climb over you between crutches and clothes everywhere. Moreover it has been weird not to have begging eyes in the kitchen and not having to save some leftovers for you... I miss your kind morning greeting when you came next to my bed, gently offered your paw me and without pressing me you stretched down near me... You were big and bulky but always delicate and quiet... you were a bit intrusive sometimes... but always in a discreet way 😅😂😇💖 Yet it seems that sometimes I can almost see you... in the shadow of a tree, under the table... there in that empty space where there was your cushion... or maybe laying under my feet next to the couch... Sometimes I look at the thousand photos or videos on the phone and it seems to me that you are always here... but you are alive only in our minds and in our hearts...🥲 other times I think I see you in other dog’s eyes I meet on the street or on those adoption’s pages it happened on the web. Surely there will be a new friend... at the moment we have to elaborate the loss and then we will see. We already have some proposals... who knows maybe a puppy could come soon.. at the moment it seems early but never say never… He was just a dog, but you’ve all loved him a lot and you have all overwhelmed us with great affection with comments, phone calls and messages from every part. 💌 Someone sent me memorial pics someone of you created beautiful images with cartoon effect (which made me younger wow 😅) ... ❤️ In short, who in one way, who in the other, lot of you have had a thought for him and for us all. And for this really, I want to thank each one of you... 💖 I don’t know if dogs have souls but Orion has been an angel for us… he was our blond angel 🪽
