Hello Everybody

Many of you have asked about Tom’s treatment, so here’s a brief update.

I haven’t shared much lately because I didn’t want to raise unnecessary concerns, but I acknowledge that you deserve some information.

While there have been some visible improvements, progress has been slow, and the most frustrating part is that we still don’t know exactly what we’re treating.

All tests have come back negative: no parasites, allergies, dermatitis, fungal or bacterial infections, and both his kidneys and liver are in good condition.

Even the imaging tests were clean.
While his symptoms are similar to previous episodes, we’re still in the dark about the underlying cause.

Unfortunately, this means he’s been on a lot of medication, some of which may have been unnecessary or, at worst, possibly wrong.

A new vet has suggested that Tom may be dealing with a hormonal imbalance, but we’ll need to re-test in a month to confirm that.

This has definitely affected his mood. He’s never been much of a walker, but now he prefers to stay indoors most of the day. We do play at home, and we sure have fun, but I can only hope it makes up for the lack of outdoor time.

Rest assured, Tom is doing well overall. He’s not in pain and doesn’t seem to be uncomfortable. I also have to remind myself that he’s nearly 9 years old now, and with age, we all change.
