It has been a few weeks of heaviness (personal stuff) and this retreat was just one of the best escapes ever. It was just a weekend, but oh dear how lovely it was. And the best part was seeing Tom playing as a little puppy as he hasn’t for quite a while. We need to do this more often.

Tom is nearly nine, and it’s starting to show—or maybe I’m just starting to notice. Aging is a privilege, and I couldn’t be happier that a puppy once discarded by a few found a home where he is truly loved.

And no matter how much time it’s been since we first met, he’ll always be my baby.

In the early morning hours, when the streets are quieter, many couples take advantage of the serene atmosphere to capture their professional wedding photos.

One of these days, while walking Tom back home (we live just a block from Piazza Navona), a newlywed couple stopped me and asked if he could be in one of their pictures.

How could I say no?
