As you may be aware, the council have enforced closure of Ffynnone Dog Field based predominantly on noises recorded between the 26th of April and the 2nd of May 2023 via https://www.thenoiseapp.com/ #/ . During that same week we received reports from members of the public (which weren’t customers of the dog field) of intrusive filming and threatening behaviour, which we immediately reported to our local councillor but resulted in no resolution.

Unfortunately, what happened during that week has ultimately led to 2 rejected planning applications given that the planning team have accepted noise app recordings without taking into consideration the number of dogs at the dog field during those hours/days, the exact source of the noises and to validate whether there was any aggravation happening in order to generate noises. We commissioned an independent and professional acoustics and noise control company to conduct noise recordings during another period at Ffynnone Dog Field but unfortunately the report was disregarded and significantly scrutinised by the Pollution Control Team.

We’re in process of either appealing the recent planning application or submitting a pre application for a dog field at another site and we’re awaiting correspondence from the council on this.

Thought you would appreciate the update as it’s been a tough couple of weeks for us having to cancel hundreds of bookings over the upcoming months.

Thank you for your continued support. Dyfal donc a dyrr y garreg!

Canlyniad siomedig - Disappointing verdict! https://pembrokeshire.public-i.tv/core/portal/webcast_interactive/795047 - 2:36 onwards if you would like to watch what was said during the planning application which was held yesterday. We are astounded by the verdict that was given by the councilors as the majority had retracted from their original views of support, following a considered and improved planning application containing all of the necessary evidence demonstrating how the field meets regulations (including the commissioning of independent noise recording professionals to show trustworthy data for the first time during this planning process).

We’re in slight disarray by some of the fabrication that was presented during the planning committee given the facts that we have received minimal complaints from neighbours and customers since the opening of Ffynnone Dog Field, whilst also considering all positive-only reviews we have received to date and the joy it brings to the community, both near and far-reaching.

We now need to consider what our viable next steps are given the challenges we face but rest assured, we will do what’s necessary to ensure the dog field can continue providing the service for our community.

Thank you for your overwhelming support during this planning appeal, including those of you who sent letters of support to Pembrokeshire County Council during this planning application. Although the contents of your letters weren’t mentioned during the planning committee meeting, we’ve acknowledged them and recognise the importance the field brings to your mental and physical well-being and the reassurance the field offers from a health and safety perspective.

We will keep this peaceful and harmonious Dog Field going, one way or another 😊.

Shwmae! As you may be aware, the previous planning application was rejected by Pembrokeshire County council (link below) based predominantly around noise of dogs barking. Since then we have submitted another planning application and have concisely taken local residents’ concerns: We’ve 1. Reduced the opening hours so that potential noise from the field can be kept at a minimum 2. Reduced the number of dogs that can attend at the same time so that potential barking can be minimised and 3. Resubmitted that we will be proposing a wooden fence and a hedge around the dog field itself. As you will appreciate, this shows our commitment to work with our local residents, whilst simultaneously sacrificing revenue at the Dog Field.

We are now asking for your help and would appreciate your support here, given how much joy the field brings to Dog owners and visitors of the field. Please email [email protected] and quote the reference 23/0332/PA to show your support and share this post with your friends and family as we would appreciate all of the support we can get!

Additionally, as mentioned by the clerk of Manordeifi Community Council “Manordeifi Community Council will be holding an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday 8th August at 7.45pm at Newchapel Reading Room. The agenda item is to formulate a response to the new planning application for the Fynnone Dog Field. There will be an opportunity for members of the public to speak at the beginning of the meeting”.

It’s time to shine! Thank you all for your continued support, we go again. Diolch i bawb am eich cefnogaeth barhaus, bant a’r cart!

Rest assured, we at Ffynnone Dog Field will do our upmost to keep the field open so that you can continue enjoying the peace and tranquility with your furry friends. We will appeal to the planning inspectorate, given the field’s popularity and the joy it brings to our community by the vast majority of you and not let a handful of local habitants alongside Manordeifi’s local councillor get in the way of the continuation of one of the few businesses that exists within Capel Newydd.

To end on a positive, here are some of our favourite photos you’ve posted of your “noisy” dogs enjoying themselves, our ratings on https://ffynnonedogfield.simplybook.it/v2/ as well as on Google Business and this page. We appreciate and thank you for your feedback!

Diolch am eich cefnogaeth, rhy’ ni yma o hŷd.
