We need your help!
Lately it’s been difficult to keep people interested in what we’re doing here at Tails & Scales. Despite trying our hardest to highlight and showcase species that a lot of people haven’t heard of whilst simultaneously trying to provide you all with meaningful, unique, interactive experiences we seem to have hit a bit of a roadblock.
What would you like to see from us moving forward? We hope the future is bright but in order for that to be a reality we definitely need to hear feedback from past, present and future customers/ visitors!
Thank you 😊
(Video features one of our newer ambassadors, Freyja the gorgeous Black Tailed Cribo who would certainly love to meet some new faces)
Another great socialisation session with our 2 pretty Pythons! Short positive interactions like this are key to build any Animal’s trust and confidence overtime to ensure they become amazing ambassadors, it can take time but the time and effort is well worth it ☺️
Well this is a first without a doubt! I’ve decided to offer up a pair of Chinese Beauty Snakes, a male Calico and female Albino with some interesting genetics hidden in them. This would give a very lucky person the opportunity to work with a seldom seen and very under appreciated species, here in Jersey! To my knowledge I’m currently the only person keeping them here and I’d like that to change as they’re an absolutely phenomenal pet species, extremely docile, curious, active and truly beautiful. The unique colour morphs and overall potential with this project is quite exciting! If you’re interested in these little stunners please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information ☺️

Ms. Paisley our 13 year old rescue Chinese Softshell Turtle enjoying her newly set up outdoor accommodation for the rest of the year! Still lots of decor and aquatic plants to add but it’s nice to see her curiously exploring her new space until her permanent pond is built next year 😁
The Russian Rat Snakes are loving the outdoor life, can’t wait to get their big aviary upgrade completed soon! 😁
I never formally introduced these Gorgeous little Geckos. These are Viellard’s Chameleon Geckos, a fascinating small species that hails from New Caledonia, like our Chahoua Geckos. They share a genus “Eurydactylodes” with several other very similar geckos with subtle differences! As you can see here they are very bold, curious and unafraid of people and for such a small lizard that is quite a rare occurrence. We’re hopeful that the two we recently acquired will turn out to be a compatible pair as we think they deserve more appreciation and definitely make wonderful pets for just about anyone really, you can create a beautiful mini ecosystem for a lizard like this and they’re such a joy to observe!
What a Snake! It’s easy to see why Bumblebee the Chinese King Rat Snake is a firm favourite and he’s as tame as can be. As a fully grown adult these are undoubtedly one of the most impressive Snakes on the planet 😍🔥
The definition of a passion project, these Stuart’s Milk Snakes are just wonderful and utterly beautiful 😍 They’ll hopefully be producing some of the first Wild Type offspring in UK for quite some time this year too!
