Our project starts from a cause ...
Trying to empower Jordanian women in rural areas in Jordan, help them become economically powerful so that they give back to the community and help improve the society, the idea of bee keeping and producing pure Jordanian honey was born. Women make enormous contributions to economies, whether in businesses, on farms, as entrepreneurs or employees, or by doing unpaid care work at home.
My wife and I decided to start this business on a small scale, then gradually expand to include local citizens in the process of honey production. We gave our honey the name of The Honey Oweisses, which refers to our family name Oweiss. Part of our honey sales revenue will go towards educating the needy students in our country, which is another small project that we started a few years ago. We strongly believe that educating children and empowering woman will positively and enormously improve societies.
All of our honey is bottled by hand to support the local economy by creating jobs. We are also looking for opportunities to export pure Jordanian honey produced in our local apiaries overseas.
