They are intelligent but require thorough socialisation and obedience training. While socialising this breed as a puppy, you should take special care to prevent them from having encounters with aggressive dogs. The dogs tend to carry those experiences with them and could react in a fearful or defensive manner when presented with similar situations later on in life. The protective instincts are ver

y strong in this breed; some people have reported that guests to their homes must be introduced to their dogs before they are permitted entry. The breed will protect its family and property with its life, and unknown intruders will be met with fearless resistance. Because of the strong protective nature of this breed, Boerboels are not recommended if you’ve never had a dog before. Although protective, Boerboels have a desire to please and become attached to their families. They can be very playful and affectionate and enjoy playing with children with whom they are acquainted. The breed gets along with dogs, cats and other animals, but this can vary based on each dog’s individual temperament.

The Boerboel is a sensitive and smart dog breed that is very protective of land and family. Historically, the boerboel was used to guard farms in Southern Africa, as well as to protect farmers from dangerous wildlife in sparsely populated land.

Today, we are happy to release EsoteriK Hope to his new home at Rennil Farm, where he will be part of a pack that will be guarding the farm’s vast livestock from marauding hyenas, jackals, leopards & lions.

We would like to extend our thanks to Mr. Ian for trusting us with his choice of guard dogs, up to the point of even fully booking another pup from our next litter, God willing, expected in late 2023.

It is our hope that EsoteriK Hope will keep the Boerboel legacy alive and fly that flag high.

Already at 15 weeks of age, EsoteriK Fantastic Yuna is proving to be a superb working farm dog in the making. Her presence is already being felt at Japith Farms. We are happy that she has not only found a loving home, but that her home is now a better home with her.

We at EsoteriK Mastiffs have decided to retain Nsizwa Mehuman for our ongoing breeding program. The first litter that he recently sired, has exhibited excellent qualities synonymous with the boerboel breed, such as being tough working farm dogs with supreme guarding instincts.

Indeed, most of his pups from the recent litter have found homes in farms and ranches, a testament to the great qualities that they offer to such spaces.

We shall be announcing the next breeding program as well as when the bookings will be open. Kindly note that priority and privilege will be offered to individuals who will be on the booking list.

Yet again, one of our lovely pups finds a new loving home. EsoteriK Sicario will be heading to Maua Hills, to a ranch whereby he will be guarding the home from wild animals inter alia. We are excited that the Mutiso family has trusted EsoteriK Mastiffs to provide them with a boerboel that will fulfill their needs.

Sicario will be living up to the legacy of his ancestors and it is our hope that he will fly that flag high.

EsoteriK commenced in 2018, a small farm located in the savannah plains of Kajiado County, home of the famed Maasai people in the Republic of Kenya. We are focused on breeding mastiffs, primarily the boerboel breed.

We fell in love with the Boerboel during our stay in South Africa. The first time we saw a boerboel dog was in 1999 at Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal. That first encounter with this majestic breed left an inedible mark in our lives. Nineteen years later, we finally actualized our passion for the improvement and preservation of the breed by establishing the home of pedigree boerboel bloodlines in East and Central Africa. Our Boerboels are raised in a 1.2 acre farm, surrounded by vast savannah land which satisfies their sense of adventure and exploration.

The Boerboel is a strong intelligent dog that has bееn ѕресіаllу brеd tо bе a рrоtесtоr. Boerboels hаvе a vеrу confident nаturе аnd frіеndlу сhаrасtеr. Boerboels hаvе vеrу ѕtrоng wаtсhdоg іnѕtіnсtѕ. They are vеrу соnfіdеnt аnd have no fеаr. Since Boerboels аrе nаturаl рrоtесtоrѕ, thеу саn bе аggrеѕѕіvе tоwаrd strangers. Thе Bоеrbоеl wіll рut their lіfе оn thе lіnе іn оrdеr tо рrоtесt thеіr рrореrtу, frіеndѕ аnd fаmіlу.

Duе tо thе ѕіzе оf thе Bоеrbоеl, thеу need to bе undеr соntrоl аt аll tіmеѕ. A Bоеrbоеl саn bе a thrеаt tо реорlе аnd аnіmаlѕ аrоund hіm/her, іf hе/she іѕ nоt trаіnеd рrореrlу. Consequently, it іѕ аdvіѕеd thаt Boerboels gеt trаіnіng іn оbеdіеnсе frоm a vеrу еаrlу аgе оnwаrdѕ.
