From Kangemi to the world.
Patient X ,a local KSD breed was adopted by a client while on assignment in the country.We are happy to have cared for the furry one and facilitated all the travel documents I.e.Health certificates,Export permit ,Rabies titre tests etc and now enjoying some new environment thanks to love.

TRIVIA RESULTS!!!
Our patients are Siamese and Persian Breeds.Very popular exotic breeds .
Here are some fun facts worth noting before getting these breeds as your companions.
SIAMESE
-Origin:-Capital of Siam ,now Thailand.
-Medium sized to weigh between 2.5-5.5 kgs when mature.
-Color/coat darkens with age:-Any scars on the skin darken coat around these areas hence Ventral midline approach recommended for Spaying(Pure aesthetic )
-They are vocal ,strong personality and thrive around company.If you consider getting one,highly recommend you have multiple cats in your home.
-Are more prolific than average cats with their first heat coming as early as 5 months so SPAY and NEUTER should be prioritized.
PERSIAN
-Origin:-Persia now Iran.
-Medium -Large sized to weigh between 3.5-7 kgs when mature.
-Because of their Long fur,they easily get knots and tufts .They need daily brushing and detangling so only get such if you have TIME to care for them.
-Anatomy :-Flat face presents with several challenges e.g overproductive tear ducts that lead to constant tearing ,difficulty in breathing due to a “pushed “ in nose etc.EXTRA care needed for them.
-They are calm ,sociable and generally gentle.They can tolerate solitude but ensure food and water is always served on time.

Important to always orient ourselves on the companions we have or plan to get so that we better care for them.
Remember,responsible pet ownership is a lifelong commitment and not just for convenience.

With the current weather conditions ,our pets are prone to adverse effects.Grain diets are most affected since the moisture content encourages growth of mold which makes the food go bad causing Aflatoxicosis.We encourage our clients to store all pet food in a dry ,cool place away from direct sunlight and heat .Should you suspect any signs of Aflatoxicosis ,diagnostic tests are available and treatment should be done as soon as possible to save lives.

Fun times with the little ones after receiving the annual booster vaccinations against catflu and rabies. As seasons change and we get to the colder periods of the year,Now would be a good time to get your furry ones vaccinated /given booster shots to prevent any potential threats /infections.

The little furry one enjoying some sun as they get ready for their first jab against Parvo virus infection which is a major cause of deaths in puppies. Common clinical signs of Parvo include vomiting,bloody diarrhoea ,loss of body condition e.t.c Being a viral condition,there is no definate treatment and prognosis is usually guarded plus the costs for treatment is so high. This disease is 100 % preventable through vaccinations. 1st dose of the vaccine is done at 6 weeks and booster doses given within 3 weeks interval. Do not wait for your puppies to be unwell inorder for you to appreciate the value of vaccinations.

The following kittens (2 Males and a Female ) approximately 7 weeks old were abandoned near Ruaka ,well wishers picked them and brought them to the clinic for help.We have since dewormed,vaccinated and deflead them.They need a forever loving home(s).We will need a commitment to fully care and neuter them when they are of age.If interested,Kindly DM.
