Reasons for Shell-less quail eggs. (1.) Young quails starting to lay may lay mis-shaped, shellless, thin shelled eggs. Remedy is ensure they r on layers feeds. (2.) Lack of calcium. Remedy is provide layers diet,egg shells/ oyster shells or DCP and adequate vitamin D. (3.) preditors cause quails to be startled and thus disrupt egg shell making process. (4.) stress: stress due to molting, preditors, excesive temps or change of flock affect shell formation due to acid-base level that affects calcification. (5.) advanced age will affect egg layin, normal body functions and shell formation. (6.) posible medical conditions like poor calcium absorption,shell gland faultyness,sickness, diet with high salts and egg drop syndrome
