Bart's Story: 🐾💔
Weeks ago, Bart was tragically involved in a hit-and-run accident. He was found and brought to us for help. We were shocked he was still alive. The impact caused both his eyes to pop out of their sockets, and from the smell, he had been in that state for several days before being rescued.
Our veterinary team assessed his wounds, and sadly, his eyes couldn't be saved. To save his life, we had to make the difficult decision to remove his damaged eyes. The surgery went well, and Bart is expected to make a full recovery. However, his healing will take months, and we are here with him day in and day out to help him adjust to his blindness. 🐶❤️

Nebira is approximately 2 months old and is eagerly seeking her forever home. She thrives in environments with a garden or alongside another playful feline companion. Currently, we are looking for a dedicated foster for her as she is too young to be adopted just yet. Nebira will be ready for adoption in about a month, and we are seeking a foster who is serious about potentially adopting her as a forever pet, providing a loving and permanent home.

When she was just a hungry puppy, she tried to satisfy her hunger by chasing a chicken. Unfortunately, the owner of the chickens responded by punishing Special and another dog, hitting them with a machete and leaving them to die. These dogs were simply following their natural instincts to hunt for food. Thankfully, the team at KSPCA were able to rescue Special and provided her with the care she needed to recover. Unfortunately the other dog was unable to make it with his injuries.
Despite this harrowing experience, she remains incredibly loving and playful.
Special is now living with her foster who is taking great care of her.
She would thrive in a home with a cozy couch to snuggle on and plenty of toys to chew! She knows her basic commands and isn't a fussy eater. She gets along well with other dogs and has even co-existed with chickens and ducks in her foster’s garden. Showing that all she needs in life is a loving home and an owner that will give her the proper care she deserves.
She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Jipgoche had a very rough start in life. She was a tried and true fighter and champion who beat all odds! But honestly, we wondered if she would ever be adopted. So many people come to adopt saying, "I want something fluffy, or white, or pretty." Some of our most amazing animals are overlooked because they don't fit the "looks" category, and it is heartbreaking.
Oh, how we wish people came to the shelter and asked, "Who is the sweetest? Who is the friendliest? Who has been here the longest? Who has suffered the most?" The day Jipgoche was adopted was the day a mother brought her son to the shelter to choose a kitten. Leave it to a child to show us the way of true unselfish love! This little boy and Jipgoche instantly had a connection. He knew this kitten had chosen him, and he had chosen her! Looks were not a factor; love and connection were what mattered to this amazing boy. His mama was shocked, but she fully supported his decision. Since that day, they have been the most amazing adopters!
