24 GENERAL EGG KNOWLEDGE

1. Storing eggs upside-down makes them last longer. Turning your eggs upside down before stashing them in the fridge will make them last longer. Placing the pointy end down in the carton will prevent air pockets inside the shell from coming in contact with the yolk, which helps slow down the aging process.

2. It is generally not recommended to eat eggs from reptiles like snakes and lizards, or other non-bird animals, because their eggs are not a good source of nutrition for humans. They are often high in fat and low in protein compared to bird eggs. Some reptile eggs can carry harmful bacteria or parasites that can make you sick.

3. Washed eggs need to be refrigerated. When a hen lays an egg, with that egg pops out with a nearly invisible coating called a bloom. This bloom helps prevent air and bacteria from permeating the shell and prematurely aging the egg. That is why fresh eggs straight from the chicken are often placed in bowls or baskets on the kitchen counter. Grocery store eggs, on the other hand, have been washed, thus removing the bloom and requiring refrigeration to keep them fresh.

4. The colour of the egg yolk should be very bright yellow or deep orange. The difference in colour is based on what the chicken is eating. Chickens who only eat the grain feed given to them will lay eggs that are yellow. Chickens that are free-range and eat mostly bugs and vegetation will produce these orange yolks.

5. Chickens can still lay eggs even if there is no rooster (Male chicken). Many people think that you need a rooster for a hen to lay eggs. Most of the hens producing eggs today have never seen a rooster in their life.

6. In the stores, you can usually find small, medium, large, and jumbo or extra-large eggs. Some may speculate this has to do with breed, but in the commercial industry, it usually has more to do with a hen's age. The Older the Hen, the Bigger the Eggs. The older the hen, the more likely she is to produce these larger eggs.

7. Apart from using water to test the freshness of an egg, there are other ways to tell if an egg Is fresh:

If the shell seems unusually thick, then it is fresh.

If the yolk stands really tall after you have cracked the egg, it is fresh.

If the yolk has wrinkles or dissolves into a puddle when you crack it open, then it is an old egg.

8. A chicken will lay bigger and stronger eggs if you change the lighting in a way to make her think a day is 28 hours long.

9. Eggs are good for your eyes. They contain lutein which prevents cataracts and muscle degeneration.

10. Breed determines egg shell colour. Commercial eggs are brown or white, but some breeds can also lay blue, green, or pink eggs.

11. Duck eggs are higher in fat and better for baking.

12. Brown eggs are more expensive than white eggs, because the hens that lay them are larger and require more feed.

17 LAWS OF FARMING YOU SHOULD KNOW

1. Never target peak seasons, peak seasons come with their own challenges. Be a farmer not a gambler.

2. Choose at least two main crops and a rotational crop plan. Jumping from one crop to another is not right to your pocket.

3. Plan your farm and always have the crops at different age stages, to ensure constant supply.

4. No crop that is not profitable, just master the pro and cons of a particular crop.

5. Having a lot of many is not a licence to successful farming.

6. Have a spray and fertilizer plan and stick to it.

7. Never take advise from agrovets and agrochemical sales agent. Most of them are sales persons and not agronomists.

8.Try as much as possible to cut down on farm expenditure without compromising on produce quality.

9. Never hold back on a produce, if its a quick perishable product. Sell it at the prevailing prices.

10. Never plant a new seed on large scale before doing trials unless you have seen it somewhere.

11. Never entrust your million dollar idea against a farmhand, ensure you are present during critical stages of crop development untill marketing.

12. Never employ a close family member to manage your farm, most of them will fail you.

13. If you are neighbouring farmers plant same crop.

14. Never apply any farming information you get online, without consulting your agronomist.

15. Always have a farm plan.

16. Old is always good.
Most of the old seed varieties and chemicals will never disappoint you.

17. Passion in farming is key and will take you far.

Be smart with land usage .

NOBODY IS YOUR ENEMY

*ANYONE THAT ANNOYS YOU* --is teaching you patience and calmness.

*ANYONE THAT ABANDONS YOU* --is teaching you how to stand up on your own feet.

*ANYBODY THAT OFFENDS YOU* --is teaching you forgiveness and compassion.

*ANYTHING THAT YOU HATE* --is teaching you, unconditional love.

*ANYTHING THAT YOU FEAR* --is teaching you the courage to overcome your fears.

*ANYTHING YOU CAN'T CONTROL* --is teaching you to let go.

*ANY "NO" YOU GET FROM HUMAN* --is teaching you to be independent.

*ANY PROBLEM YOU'RE FACING* --is teaching you how to get a solution to problems.

*ANY ATTACK YOU GET FROM PEOPLE* --is teaching you the best form of defence.

*ANYONE WHO LOOKS DOWN ON YOU* --is teaching you to look up to CREATOR ( *GOD* ).

Always look out for the lesson in every situation you face in every phase of life.
Be polite, calm, gentle and thankful to God because He will be with you to the end.
Life had taught me lessons. I do not see people at my cross road, because humans are not reliable. I only see God as the author and finisher of my faith.

*R E F L E C T I O N S*
*When you live your life without anyone betraying, hurting, disappointing, disgracing or offending you, then it means you never did anything worthy.*

*The beauty of life, is that it comes with disappointments and betrayals, from people you least expect.*

*Unfortunately, some of us spend so much time crying over these betrayals and disappointments, and end up becoming victims of all circumstances.*

*Remember One Thing:* *Holding unto anger is like knocking your head on the wall and expecting the other person to feel the pain. You are only hurting yourself.*

*The fact is that the world is full of annoying, naughty, stupid and ungrateful people, and you will always come across them at one point or another in life. But the best thing to do, is to deal with them with wisdom and maturity.*

*You can’t get everyone to love you, think like you or behave like you... never.*

*We must learn to tolerate and overlook certain things, we must try to bury the faults of others and move on with life.*

*Anger, Hatred and Intolerance have caused most of the world's problems and solved none.*

*Life is short, you don't know how much time you have left*

*I beseech you to take the pain and forgive that special person you hold grudges against, and iron out your grievances.*

*Muster the courage and apologise to that person you have offended.*

*Life is not measured by the amount of money, houses or companies you have, but by the positive impact you have made in the lives of others.*

*TIPS FOR SOFT 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒊❤️
1. Use hot water infact, let it be boiling water. Your chapos Will stay soft even after days compared to cold or warm water chapos.
2. DO NOT knead a hard dough. It should be soft and a little just little sticky but add some oil to coat the stickiness
3. Let your dough rest for about 20 to 60 minutes before you proceed to divide into balls
4. While putting it to rest, cover with a dump (wet) clean towel to prevent it from forming a hard cover
5. While rolling you dough, DO NOT let it be thin, especially at the centre because it's going to be hard during cooking
6. Use hot enough heat (slightly above medium). Using low heat will yield hard chapos and high heat yields burnt yet uncooked chapos (hazitaiva ndani)
7. Use a good pan preferably a non stick or those very thick pans. A light pan will harden them
8. After you are done cooking, cover them completely. The bottom, all round and top. You can use surviettes ama paper ya unga..as long as it's clean.

Enjoy!

10 THINGS TIME HAS TAUGHT ME

1. Most of our life is spent chasing false goals and worshipping false ideals. The day you realise that is the day you really start to live.

2. You really, truly cannot please all of the people all of the time. Please yourself first and your loved ones second, everyone else is busy pleasing themselves anyway, trust me.

3. Fighting the ageing process is like trying to catch the wind. Go with it, enjoy it. Your body is changing, but it always has been. Don’t waste time trying to reverse that, instead change your mindset to see the beauty in the new.

4. Nobody is perfect and nobody is truly happy with their lot. When that sinks in you are free of comparison and free of judgement. It’s truly liberating.

5. No one really sees what you do right, everyone sees what you do wrong. When that becomes clear to you, you will start doing things for the right reason and you will start having so much more fun.

6. You will regret the years you spent berating your looks, the sooner you can make peace with the vessel your soul lives in, the better. Your body is amazing and important but it does not define you.

7. Your health is obviously important but stress, fear and worry are far more damaging than any delicious food or drink you may deny yourself. Happiness and peace are the best medicine.

8. Who will remember you and for what, become important factors as you age. Your love and your wisdom will live on far longer than any material thing you can pass down. Tell your stories, they can travel farther than you can imagine.

9. We are not here for long but if you are living against the wind it can feel like a life-sentence. Life should not feel like a chore, it should feel like an adventure.

10. Always, always, drink the good champagne and use the things you keep for ‘best’. Tomorrow is guaranteed to no one. Today is a gift that’s why we call it the present. Eat, Drink & Be Merry.
