We haven’t posted in a long time.
Not because we wanted to, but because we’ve been overwhelmed…
Overwhelmed with new rescues, vet emergencies and the daily battles to keep every life safe.

And among all the cases we’re fighting for, one pup’s story broke us but pushed us to keep going.

Meet SALT 🤍🐾
Just 7 months old, with a gentle heart and a will stronger than his tiny body.

First 2 pics were recently taken, last 2 pics are from his very long hospital stay: we honestly never thought he would make it.

Salt's story:

A kind lady found him on the road after a severe head injury, lying helpless, unable to stand or walk. Suffering from a trauma no puppy should ever face.

But Salt refused to give up. With the care of our very own Dr. Sam and his unimaginable courage, he slowly found his way back to life.

Today, he trots again. He cuddles. He trusts.
But with winter approaching, Salt can’t stay where he is any longer. And shelter life is too harsh for a puppy like him 😪😪😪

He urgently needs a warm home, a safe place, a family who sees the fighter in him.

We desperately need serious adopters, for Salt and for many other dogs that are ready to go home.

We also need committed fosters, monthly sponsors, and regular donors to continue saving dogs like Salt.

If his story reached you, please reach out. His miracle isn’t complete yet ❤️‍🩹

DM us if you can adopt or foster or sponsor 🙏

If you can't, please please please share his story or send it to friends to help us spread the word.

We still can’t find the words. 💔
Goobye, Hamish 😭

We lost a loving soul who, no matter what he went through, never stopped giving love, a gentle, pure, and unconditional heart, until his very last breath.

We had named him Ewan, which means "warrior", when we rescued him years ago. We found him in Jbeil, Lebanon, tied to an electricity pole: skin and bones, dehydrated, barely holding on.
Another hunting dog used and discarded, like so many others.

But somehow, he still wanted to live.
We nursed him back to health — one meal, one gentle touch, one heartbeat at a time.

When he healed, we sent him to England, where the kindest souls, Samantha and Liam, welcomed him - the same family who had already adopted our Lucy.
They gave him a new name: Hamish.
A name for a new beginning.
And he lived the most beautiful life.

A few days ago, Hamish crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈
He left this world surrounded by love, safe and adored. the way every dog should be.

Run free, Hamish. You were light after darkness.
You were proof that love truly heals all wounds. 🤍🐾

We’re only sharing photos from his happy days, to cherish those moments, with the incredible humans who gave him nothing but love.

To Sam & Liam, and to everyone who played a part in his rescue, healing, and journey home — thank you for giving him the life every dog dreams of. 🕊️💛

Jackson's heartbreaking story 💔 please take a moment to read the caption (if you have a weak heart, do NOT watch all the videos). Skip to the last slide, to see some heartwarming updates 🙏

❤️‍🩹 Jackson ❤️‍🩹

He was chained for years, used as a "security dog". When badly injured, he was barely offered some medical care... Until he was eaten alive by gangrene. And the worst part? His so-called "guardian" refused to let us help him first. And that was another challenge for us as we really wanted to ease Jackson's pain.

For years, many people saw him chained and tried to save him from his misery. All were turned away.
Until one kind soul saw his rotting paw and couldn’t walk away. We had to interfere.

We managed to get him out. We talked to his "guardian" and convinced him...
We did the surgery, to save his life, before his body got poisoned from gangrene.
We gave him a chance. All thanks to your unforgettable support!!!

But the man only let him go back then, on the condition that we return him after recovery... 😭

We said yes — to save his life.

Now we need YOU. Jackson is doing much better (last 2 videos).
This sweet soul can’t go back to his miserable life. He deserves more. He deserves freedom. He deserves love.

The amazing offered him a 1 month stay that will end soon.

We need a foster/ adopter.
Or, a sponsor to extend his comfortable stay... A hero for Jackson, to cover his monthly fee because he needs special care that we unfortunately cannot provide at the shelter.

Please reach out if you can help. DM to foster or support 🙏

Always remember: no donation is small. Every contribution matters.

Today is a sad day for the tiny team of Mount Lebanon Shelter 💔

Today we said goodbye to our brave girl, Arya, who was happily adopted in England 🇬🇧

ARYA was among the very first dogs to fly, from the streets of Lebanon to a new life in the UK, and what a life she had… thanks to Katie and her wonderful family. Arya was loved, spoiled, and treated like the queen she always deserved to be 👑

Her journey even inspired more love, when Katie’s mom later adopted Ruby, all because of Arya. 🐾

I’ll forever cherish that I had the chance to see her again last year, when they invited me over. She was happy, glowing, and so deeply loved.

Five beautiful years filled with comfort, care, and unconditional love… until cancer took her away. Today, Arya gained her wings.

Run free, sweet girl. You will never be forgotten. 🕊️🤍

Our thoughts are with Katie, Mel, Barry, Max, Hannah and everyone who loved our beautiful Arya.

Hug your pups a little extra tonight.
Their lives may be short but their impact is huge ❤️‍🩹

🚨 URGENT: our FRIDAY Needs Help, please take a moment to read the caption 🚨
Warning: GRAPHIC CONTENT in the last slide.

Two years ago, we rescued a sweet, abandoned dog and named him FRIDAY. Since then, he’s been family: loyal, loving, and so full of life.

Last night, everything changed. FRIDAY started sneezing blood and we rushed him to the emergency vet. He's been stabilized for now, but the cause is still unknown. The vets say he urgently needs a CT scan (detailed cost below) to find out what’s going on.

On top of that, his emergency care and 3-night hospital stay are adding up fast. Every dog under our care gets everything they need, no matter what — and right now, FRIDAY needs us more than ever.

His initial medical bill will exceed 700 USD (treatment, ultrasound, xrays, blood tests...)
He also tested positive for a deadly disease...

Breakdown:
CT scan alone will cost 415 USD
Emergency fee 60 USD
Medical stay and treatment 270 USD

We really need to know what's wrong with him to treat him, otherwise, we could lose him...

If you’re able to help, in any way, it would mean the world to us. Even sharing this helps 🙏

If you can pitch in with 10 or 20 dollars, your donation will save his life.

Goodbye, Lucie 🕊️🐾

Lucie spent around 16 years surviving the streets. A kind restaurant owner fed her, but she knew no real comfort, until one day, we rescued her after she was shot and left to suffer 😔

She defied the odds and healed… but time and cancer caught up with her. She had three large tumors — one of them burst...

At around 17 years old, she crossed the rainbow bridge after 11 months under our care.

We made sure she spent her final months in a peaceful home boarding, loved, warm, and safe. On her last day, we video-called her sponsor, her angel H.H.: it was emotional, beautiful, and full of love.

Lucie may have only had 11 months with us, but they were her first months of real peace.

Please consider sponsoring a dog... The more you sponsor, the more Lucies we can save 🤍

Send us a DM if you're ready 🙏

Thank you Dr and
Thank you

📣 URGENT: More Dogs with Leishmania, No Treatment in Lebanon 💔🇱🇧

We took in a Leishmania case about two weeks ago - we named her Sage.

While at the vet, another dog was brought in by another wonderful activist — the pup was also infected... Rescued from an illegal & unethical breeder, this 7-year-old Golden Retriever tested positive with this deadly disease. She will die without treatment.

We felt like destiny crossed our paths for a reason. The woman who rescued her is doing all she can, but she can’t afford the treatment on her own. And we can't turn our backs now.

💉 Treatment is long, expensive (53€ per box from the EU, cheaper if we get it from Syria), but worst of all... UNAVAILABLE in Lebanon. We can’t treat one and leave the other behind.
Right?

The only treatment is either Glucantime injections or Milteforan.

❗Leishmania is here, and it’s a zoonotic disease, meaning HUMANS can catch it too.

This is a call to our government: we need access to medication. The disease is spreading. Doing nothing is dangerous.

🙏 Please help us treat both dogs. Every contribution counts. Donations, shares, and awareness can save lives.

Let’s not look away.

Please send us a message if you can cover 1 box or more (we need at least 30 boxes)

The story of SAGE: make sure you watch the last video to see her tail finally wagging 🤍🤍🤍
And help if you can 🙏🙏🙏

SAGE wishes you a great week ahead and she's counting on you. Why?
Cause her medication to fight her deadly disease is unavailable in Lebanon...

We're ordering it from abroad and it's too expensive: price for 1 box varies from 25 USD to 50 EUROS (depending on the source...)

Ten days ago, when she was reported to us, her skin was cracked. Her fur was patchy, her body was inflamed. Every scratch was a cry for help.

If you're coming from EU, please reach out to help us bring her medication.

If you can, please donate to help us raise funds towards her treatment and long quarantine.

Link in bio or send us a message for in-kind or cash donations.

Update on SAGE 💔

Please take a moment to read the caption. Her survival depends on us 🙏

This brave soul is fighting for her life: from severe mange, skin infections, malnutrition with muscle wasting, eye & ear complications, to also battling 2 deadly diseases...

The news we were afraid to hear:
SAGE tested positive for BOTH Leishmaniasis and Ehrlichiosis. Test results in the last slide.

As you may know, Leishmania medication is NOT available in Lebanon and is too expensive... Her treatment will cost us an additional 350 EUROS.
Her total bill (including her test, IV, medical stay and baths) will exceed 800 dollars 😭😭😭

We do not want to lose her but without proper treatment, SAGE could die.

Despite it all, there's still a spark of life in those eyes that she finally opened... As long as she's fighting, we're fighting with her.

We're doing everything we can to give this pup a second chance.
To order the treatment and save SAGE, we need your help.

Would you support her the journey of healing, hope and recovery?

If you can donate, please visit the link in our Instagram bio OR send us a direct message/email.

If you can't donate, please share to help us spread the word.
