Goodbye, Lucie 🕊️🐾

Lucie spent around 16 years surviving the streets. A kind restaurant owner fed her, but she knew no real comfort, until one day, we rescued her after she was shot and left to suffer 😔

She defied the odds and healed… but time and cancer caught up with her. She had three large tumors — one of them burst...

At around 17 years old, she crossed the rainbow bridge after 11 months under our care.

We made sure she spent her final months in a peaceful home boarding, loved, warm, and safe. On her last day, we video-called her sponsor, her angel H.H.: it was emotional, beautiful, and full of love.

Lucie may have only had 11 months with us, but they were her first months of real peace.

📣 URGENT: More Dogs with Leishmania, No Treatment in Lebanon 💔🇱🇧

We took in a Leishmania case about two weeks ago - we named her Sage.

While at the vet, another dog was brought in by another wonderful activist — the pup was also infected... Rescued from an illegal & unethical breeder, this 7-year-old Golden Retriever tested positive with this deadly disease. She will die without treatment.

We felt like destiny crossed our paths for a reason. The woman who rescued her is doing all she can, but she can’t afford the treatment on her own. And we can't turn our backs now.

💉 Treatment is long, expensive (53€ per box from the EU, cheaper if we get it from Syria), but worst of all... UNAVAILABLE in Lebanon. We can’t treat one and leave the other behind.
Right?

The only treatment is either Glucantime injections or Milteforan.

❗Leishmania is here, and it’s a zoonotic disease, meaning HUMANS can catch it too.

This is a call to our government: we need access to medication. The disease is spreading. Doing nothing is dangerous.

Update on SAGE 💔

Please take a moment to read the caption. Her survival depends on us 🙏

This brave soul is fighting for her life: from severe mange, skin infections, malnutrition with muscle wasting, eye & ear complications, to also battling 2 deadly diseases...

The news we were afraid to hear:
SAGE tested positive for BOTH Leishmaniasis and Ehrlichiosis. Test results in the last slide.

As you may know, Leishmania medication is NOT available in Lebanon and is too expensive... Her treatment will cost us an additional 350 EUROS.
Her total bill (including her test, IV, medical stay and baths) will exceed 800 dollars 😭😭😭

We do not want to lose her but without proper treatment, SAGE could die.

Despite it all, there's still a spark of life in those eyes that she finally opened... As long as she's fighting, we're fighting with her.

We're doing everything we can to give this pup a second chance.

URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR JASPER 💔

Jasper was reported to us, hiding in a dark parking lot in Aley (please check the previous Reel). His body is covered with open wounds, and he cries in pain whenever we softly touch his injured hind leg. He also had a high fever of 40 degrees and needed immediate medical care.

We weren’t supposed to take in more cases, our bills are overwhelming... But we couldn’t ignore his cries. He looked at us with eyes full of fear and hope, and we knew we couldn’t walk away.

Please help us help Jasper. He's counting on you.

His bill and hospital stay exceeded 300$.
He will also be neutered and fully vaccinated.
Luckily, his 4DX test was negative 🙏

New rescue - we named her Pita 😔

She was found, abandoned by her guardians, tied to a tree in one of Beirut suburbs — alone, scared, and suffering from mange on her ears and back and from the deadly Parvovirus.... It's obvious she was neglected.

We don't know how long she waited, but we know she didn’t deserve this.

Pita is suffering and her fight isn't over. She's been hospitalized and needs urgent treatment for 5 days — and it’s costly (slide 4).

She's bleeding like crazy. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Lebanon is going through so much — and so are the forgotten animals.
In June, only a few small donations came in, and now the food is almost gone... We're extremely anxious and worried 😭

We need to raise 3,765 USD to feed 53 dogs and 2 rescued donkeys — as well as the strays we daily feed (make sure you check the last slide) and we need it fast!!!
With prices rising and uncertainty growing, securing food now is critical. We have less than TWO weeks!

Only heartless people abandon their dogs, right?

What would you call a person who dumps their SMALL vulnerable house dog, on a busy highway?

The dog was terrified, dirty, panting, trying to attack everyone out of fear, just to fend for herself... She was traumatized 😭😭😭

We still cannot believe that after 2 and a half hours, we managed to catch her.

It was an amazing collaboration with some residents of Yarze, Jamhour and an amazing couple from Hazmieh. We wish we remembered the names to thank each and every one of you: from the delivery guy who tried to stop, to the employees of the shops, to the military men, to every kind person who offered water 🙏

Thank you for helping us out, to save a soul from being run over... We hope this post will reach you.

The sweet dog is safe and she's under our care, we named her KIWI.

Kiwi is young (2 to 3 y.o), vaccinated and will be spayed ASAP. She's good with cats and other dogs.

She was full of ticks so we gave her the needed treatment, cleaned her but unfortunately, we had to shave her to treat the bites and infections...

We're teaching KIWI to trust people again and we're looking for the best forever home for her, that will never abandon her again.

When we think we've seen the worst, things get even worse... DO NOT swipe if you have a weak heart but please take a moment to read and help, if you can 💔

These dogs were “rescued” by someone who turned out to be a hoarder, trapped in neglect despite many attempts to free them.

Poor dogs, chained in filth and pain — one taken, one left behind with a paw so damaged, only amputation can ease the suffering.

So many tried. So many failed.
Lots of people attempted but couldn’t free them.
But we opted for something different: kindness, compassion, patience… and it worked.

When we stepped in, we didn’t fight — we reasoned. And it worked. The man finally said yes!!!

The pitbull has been taken in by another shelter (slide 3), but the white dog, suffering with a severely injured paw, is still waiting for help.

The dog is extremely aggressive (slide 4) except when he's with the kind-hearted person who reported him. We think he knows that we will never hurt him 😞

Today, this brave soul needs immediate surgery.

After he got injured, his "guardian" wanted to give him to shepherds to "cut" his paw 😭😭😭

We're glad we managed to convince him otherwise.

Amputation is needed, but so is love — and now, together, we can give this poor broken dog a chance...

We need to raise funds for his blood tests and treatment (he needs IV for 5 to 7 days) to control the infections = 350 USD
And the discounted price for his 2 in 1 surgery is another 400 USD (amputation+neutering)

Total = 750 USD

Adopt FREYA 🩷🩷🩷

After the accident that took the life her of guardian, Freya was depressed and broken - especially that the family sadly let her go and she found herself all alone, on the streets to fend for herself... (check the reel we posted last month)

We took her under our care and weeks later, she started showing her beautiful smile. She's been flourishing! 🌸

Thanks to our wonderful angels, we spayed her and fully vaccinated her.

She stayed with us for a while and later, with our very own Kim who worked on her rehab, socialization and crate training.

We're looking for the BEST family to welcome her.
