Loulou: our UNLUCKIEST dog 🥺

Loulou - means Pearl in Lebanese - has been with us since 2019. Yes, you read that right! 2019..
For 5 years, Loulou has been the friendliest, sweetest, calmest dog that everyone overlooked. We can't understand why.

She had a potential adopter in Lebanon, they changed their mind.
She had the chance to travel to Europe, her flight was canceled.
She had the chance to fly to Canada, they started the ban...

Loulou is THE perfect dog. Her only problem is that she's not a "beautiful" dog. Maybe that's the reason she's very unlucky??? 💔💔💔

Plenty of dogs we have rescued are happily adopted while Loulou is still waiting 😓😓😓

Please help us change her fate. Please help Loulou find a good home...

About Loulou:
She's 5 years old now, spayed, vaccinated, healthy.
She is great on a leash and we never heard her bark!
She's also TINY! Very slim, she weighs around 15 kg.
She's a mix or what we call PURE Lebanese Shepherd. She's so special!!!

I owe you everything, my Kalee, my soul mate, my beautiful angel. You left too soon 💔

Thank you for coming into my life, for blessing me with your one of a kind energy.

You're the reason I've saved and helped 300 dogs and many other animals.

You're the reason I started the shelter, from scratch and against all odds, in a society where human rights are barely respected.

You're the reason these animals are safe and adopted. Some even found forever homes, all over the world.

They owe it to you.

You're the reason I met wonderful friends, who became family to me. And you were my support when the fake ones left.

You're the reason I stopped eating meat cause you changed my entire perception of living beings.

You taught me that not only humans should be treated with kindness and compassion. The real compassion is towards animals who give you nothing in return - nothing materialistic - except unconditional love.

We've been through a lot, together, how can I keep going without you?

You are my companion wherever I go, from the beach in the South to Batroun to the mountains of Ehden.

You were Orenda's regular client and even joined us for lunch at Un Peu Fou.

Wherever you went, you spread happiness.

Every person that met you, fell for you.
You will always be our happy golden girl, our little pampered princess.

YUKI, our fierce w@r survivor, is now looking for a forever home!

She's one of the lucky dogs we managed to evacuate from the South. She's healthy and happy now.

Whether in Lebanon or abroad, we want to find her a guardian that will keep her safe, no matter what.

After weeks of rehab, this young pup is house trained and potty trained. She's good on a leash and a great companion, friendly with everyone.

We also fully vaccinated Yuki and spayed her.

Update on YASHA, our little war survivor 🤍

Yasha didn't only survive the aggressions in the South, she also survived parvo - the deadly canine virus.

Thanks to her wonderful foster, she's thriving now!
Who will adopt Miss Yasha? She's ready to go to her loving forever home 🙏

Yasha is a small sized dog (less than 10 kg), she's vaccinated, spayed and ready to meet her family.
She's good with other dogs, potty trained and house trained. All thanks to her wonderful foster!

As usual, we're looking for the best adopters for this cutie who's been through a lot.

Update on the 10 year old dog that we found yesterday - make sure you read the whole text for some good news 🥹

We took him to the 1st clinic, where vets did a 1st blood test, xrays and checkup.
The dog wasn't doing well at all and needed an ultrasound.
We took him to the 2nd hospital, where vets did a 2nd blood test and the ultrasound needed. We received the bad news...

Poor old dog is suffering from a big tumor AND renal failure!!! He's in so much paind and needed immediate treatment.

He will need a CT scan, followed by a surgery to hopefully remove his tumor. The sooner, the better to save his life 💔

Yesterday's bills (between both vets) exceeded 250$

We also need to fundraiser for his CT scan at BPH, that will cost 350$
In addition to his surgery - cost will be determined later.

To end it on a positive note, the dog's guardians were found. He was NOT abandoned as we were told. However, it's an elderly couple that can't afford to treat him...

This dog crossed our path for a reason and we promised to help him.

Our little war survivor is still fighting for his life at one of the best hospitals in Beirut.

His bill will exceed 1000 USD, between the vet fees, blood tests, IV, treatment, hospital stay for 10 to 14 days, special food and quarantine for 20 to 25 days.

One more dog saved from war zone, we named him BALI ❤️‍🩹

What you see in this picture is a young male dog that endured a lot... He's still alive, but severely sick.
He was initially rescued by Hussein Hamza and we were able to bring him to safety.

Thousands of animals were left behind during these aggressions, we're only able to take critical cases like BALI.

BALI is anemic, tested positive for BOTH Anaplasma and Leishmania...

He has been suffering from these diseases for a while now which caused a chronic KIDNEY disease.

We need him to gain weight, treat him and make sure he's on a special diet.

However, we cannot do it without your support.

Evacuating dogs from a shelter in South Lebanon ❤️‍🩹

Following our post yesterday, we were able to help several families with their cats and dogs...

We also received a call from Mohamad, a young activist in the South asking us to take these 2 dogs, from his shelter in the South.

Please, it's an EMERGENCY 🙏🙏🙏

ALL animals deserve to be safe, to feel safe. Just like us... These 2 are shaking from fear 24/7, we don't want them to be scared to death 😭
They could die from a heartattack 💔

After the airstrikes:
Yasha, the small dog, was hiding in a plastic container.
Yuki, the bigger dog, was trembling and her tail tucked...

We will temporarily take them under our care.

In order to do so, we scheduled a vet visit to vaccinate, spay and do the needed blood tests before they join our dogs.

We're asking you to help us out with the medical bills, please. We helped many pets last night and we cannot afford to do this alone.

In these critical times, securing food is vital for the survival of the animals that are under our care.

The 53 animals that we feed daily are relying on us for food and care, but our supplies are running low.

We are facing an urgent situation amid the ongoing conflict in Lebanon. We are in desperate need of a food order for the coming 2 to 3 months and we cannot do this without your help.

Adopt ZORO 🖤

Zoro had a family that abandoned him in the village early last year. His home became the streets but everyone in the area loved him, walked with him, gave him food and water. The kids played with him and he used to follow them around.

Zoro was safe, until one day, he was brutally abused by a monster... He disappeared for almost a week, bleeding, hiding, in pain, traumatised because all he knew was love and care - even on the streets. We thought he died alone, a terrible death 😔

We looked for him day and night, until we spotted him and immediately rushed him to the vet hospital (check previous posts). He had 2 surgeries and he survived!

Zoro can't return to the streets because we couldn't identify the criminal... We need to find him a home.

He is great with other pets, does well around children and he is also potty trained.

He's still very young and he's healed now. We vaccinated and neutered him. Zoro can also travel if we find him a suitable family abroad.

His cute face reminds us of Veeka, another husky x shepherd mix that we rescued and who got adopted in the States.

Some good news to brighten your day ☀️

Our MOLLY can finally leave Lebanon and fly to Europe, where a trusted foster home will welcome her until she gets adopted there.

All we need is a small support to cover her blood test: Lebanon is unfortunately on the list of countries with rabies and when ANY pet needs to travel to Europe or to USA, we need to secure 300$ for a blood test that will be done in a laboratory abroad.

We are very certain that our beautiful friends won't let Molly down. By donating 5 or 10 dollars, you will help Miss Molly to get closer to her forever home.

Yes, flying dogs to fosters or adopters abroad is costly and requires a lot of work but it's a very rewarding project that will allow us to welcome other dogs in need. When a dog gets adopted, they make room for another 🌸

With very few good homes in Lebanon, especially for dogs like Molly, the only way to have our dogs adopted (and take other stray dogs instead), is by sending them abroad.

ZYRA wishes you a lovely weekend! ❤️‍🩹

She's still at the hospital but she's eating and she gained 2 kg in 7 days!

This time last week, she weighed 16 kg - half of her normal weight...

Today, she weighs 18 kg 🥳

She took one more medical bath for her mange, she's still on IV and we're trying to avoid blood transfusion as much as we can. Wish her luck!

Update on ZORO 🖤 who will be his guardian angel?

Last Friday, we rushed Zoro to the emergency vet hospital. He's been living in a quiet and safe neighborhood for years until he was bullied and hit by a monster - we're still trying to find out who abused him...

Zoro suffered for days. We're so happy we managed to catch him after he disappeared. He was in pain but too scared to approach anyone.

He's been at the vet hospital for 4 days and will stay until tomorrow.
Earlier today he had his surgery. We also asked the vets to neuter him and give him the vaccine booster.

However, we're very anxious because we need to cover his bill ASAP. We're only getting little donations while our bills are too large... We can't keep going like this.

In addition to the 345 USD, we need to secure another 150 USD for a dog sitter to keep Zoro at her place until he fully recovers and his wound is completely healed. A total of 495 USD...

Every dollar counts!
