The tail is an extension of the sloping back. Which goes slanting downwards the tail should not go upwards from the back.

There are two types of tails: Fan Tail & Long Tail

A Fan tail is fan shaped from the back. The feathers on the tail can grow upto two feet whereas in the Long tail the feathers can grow upto four feet. The feathers of the tail should be strong, firm & straight similar to a broom stick. The straight & firm tail is preferred rather than a drooping feathered tail. Minimum of 40 to 50 feathers is preferred.

Sometimes a Fan tail will also be a long tail. And a Long tail can also have a Fan shaped.

A Fan shaped with a long tail and 40 to 50 feathers is considered as one of the best.
