Hello friends of Lucky Dogs. I have an important request of you. We have recently become aware of a petition which has been submitted suggesting stronger regulation and regular inspections of animal care facilities. We fully support this petition and efforts being made elsewhere to strengthen the regulation, oversight, and responsible growth of animal care businesses in Luxembourg.

The petition is written in Luxembourgish. My wife helped me in creating this post by translating the petition text into English:

Title: Stricter and, above all, regular inspections of animal boarding facilities and the obligation by law to enter oneself on a list approved and controlled by the state.

Purpose of the petition: The aim of this petition is to regularly inspect animal boarding facilities without prior notice (appointment) at least twice a year. Furthermore, we urge only animal boarding facilities approved by the state be allowed to offer such a service and are held accountable in the event of illegal violations.

Reasons for the petition: The motivation of this petition is to ensure the safety of the animals through regular and unannounced inspections by a state authority.

As I understand it, the petition has to receive 4500 signatures in order to be successful. And if successful, it will be put in front of the Luxembourgish Parliament for debate and consideration. The petition currently has only 7% (roughly 300) of the 4500 signatures required. The deadline to sign the petition is 07-Nov-2024 at 23:59.

In order to sign this petition, you do not have to be a citizen or even a resident of Luxembourg. You must only have a social security number (i.e.- you live or work in Luxembourg) and must be at least 15 years of age.

Occasionally, we have 4-legged guests so small that they can fit between the bars of our large dogs room. But we've never met a dog that could fit between the bars of our small dogs room. So, we were wondering how this sweet little girl kept escaping the small dogs room. And we decided to film her when she didn't notice us. This is what we found. 😅🐾🥰

Hello. Many of you responded to this post asking if we need a replacement for our (now retired) playroom couch. Thank you all so much for your very generous offers. We actually already replaced it with an even bigger and more comfy couch. And we have additional pieces in our garage which we will use to upgrade our doggie sleeping rooms.

What we do need are old bath towels (large and small alike). At Lucky Dogs, we are obsessed with cleanliness and are constantly cleaning our playroom and doggie sleeping rooms. This requires a lot of towels and near continuous operation of our washing machine and dryer. So, if you have any old towels that you were planning to throw away or take to the recycling center, please let us know. We would be happy to take them off of our hands. 🙂

Oh Mr. Playroom Couch... how we will miss you. You provided so many comfortable lazy snoozes and sleepy afternoons. You were always there when the floor was not enough for us doggies romping across the playroom. You gave us such comfort and support. And you never got mad... even when some of us marked on you or ripped a hole in you. Thank you Mr. Playroom Couch for being so good to us. We wish you a happy retirement and will never forget you.

We had too many dogs to take them on one simultaneous walk. So we divided them into groups. This was a walk with 8 dogs. And during the walk, these 4 babies were so cooperative in taking a portrait together. 🐾😍🐾🥰🐾

Just got back from a long nature walk. Now it's time to get cleaned up so that we don't track mud into the playroom. And then we'll settle into a nice afternoon nap. 🐾🥰🐾🥰🐾

I love ALL of our 4-legged friends at Lucky Dogs. But, I want to especially thank the doggies that visited us today for giving me a GREAT DAY! I am continually reminded of why I left my career in IT to start this company. And why I love this job. But today for some reason just felt special. You know that you love your job when you are doing it in the rain and don't seem to notice. Thank you my furry friends for a great day! 🥰🐾🥰🐾🥰

Thank you sooooooo much Mischo for the wonderful couch and chair that you donated to Lucky Dogs yesterday. Some of the furniture in our sleeping rooms is a bit old and worn.
