My name is Raphael, I'm the Founder and Director of CaniSense Pet Behaviour Services. After my dog Paco deceased in 2011, I decided to focus 100% on serving pet owners and their animal friends through setting up PACo Pet Care (Formerly Pets Assistance Company) in 2012 independently providing a variety of high-quality pet services with the help of my beloved wife Barbara who developped the Daycare

and Boarding service. My dog behaviour services were part of Pets Assistance Company until 2015, that year we created a separate entity, called CaniSense. I have been consulting as Dog Behaviour Counsellor since 2003 and I am member of the APDT (Association of Professional Dog Trainers), IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, the ABS (Animal Behavior Society) and the DWA (Dog Welfare Alliance). I am continuously willing to challenge myself and stay inspired for personal improvement through exchanging with other professionals and studying. Currently I'm finalising the steps to qualify and become a Canine Life And Social Skills (C.L.A.S.S.) I've had the honor of meeting Ian Dunbar, Turid Rugaas, Winkie Spiers, Simon Gadbois and other renowned experts through following their seminars. Studying is a lifelong commitment to me.

About Us

My name is Raphael, I'm a Canine Behaviourist and also the Founder & Owner of PACo Pet Care and CaniSense Pet Behaviour Services. You will notice that I refer to Pets as HE in general and HIS as possessive pronoun, this is simply because I prefer these terms rather than IT . At CaniSense, I train you to master the fundamentals in order to train your dog and maintain lasting results and progress over time. Nothing fulfills a dog better than knowing that he has a useful role in our life, even if the goal is just behaving in a correct manner and being reliable. Praises and appreciation are then frequent and who would say no to that?

Our human world can be challenging and confusing for pets in general due to our cultural paradigms and our complex infrastructures. My strategy is to help you perceive the world as your pet does and from there we can reach out and set him up for success. The principles used at CaniSense are: Encouragement-based, Force-free, Fear-free, Efficiency, Clarity.

I use the following 3 C’s Rule in training: CONSISTENCY, CONTIGENCY, CONSEQUENCE
