Gemma Alphecca Origami Way
Gemma is our keeper from the very first Origami Way litter - Ory’s and Tatu daughter.
Gemma is spending her best life with my sister’s Signe Leimonte family since the age of 2,5 months. She is able to fit in our black & white pack perfectly whenever it is needed. Although Gemma does not love dog shows too much, we have managed to travel across the Europe together with her and close some titles. You can meet Gemma on lure coursing field as well!
According to Gemmas family:
“She most deffinitely is not an average basenji. She's the most calm, patient and empathic dog they've ever seen, which is not very typical for the breed. She adapts to all her humans needs - weather it's long working hours, or simply a sad, low-energy day - Gemma always has their back and keeps them company by staying close and bringing some comfort, or the opposite - by giving space and spending time on her own (it's almost as if she can tell what's needed at any given moment). And whenever the opportunity arises, Gemma will be the best walking, hiking, running partner you can ask for - she's ready to go on any adventure, as long as she's with her loved ones. Gemma is never the one to interrupt by requesting walks, play or attention if the human is busy. But as soon as it's chill time - she knows and takes every opportunity to be pet and cuddled. Gemmas hobbies are cuddling, hiking, running wild at the country-side, sunbathing, sniffing every leaf and grass strand during walks, watching movies and training. Yes, training. As long as there's food rewards involved, she's ready to train for hours. Many kind words have been received about Gemmas obedience and character. Yes, Gemmas's still a basenji, so SHE decides when to listen to human commands, as well as which humans she likes, but she knows and understands what's asked of her perfectly well, sometimes even telepathically, and that makes her the perfect canine companion for her family - what more could be asked for?”
