🪱 Parasite prevention day!

Just like your domestic pets, my resident foxes can get creepy-crawlies as well. Each month, I treat for both internal and external parasites; this helps prevent against worms, fleas, ticks, mange mites, etc.

Some of the foxes are easier to treat than others, and will easily take a pill hidden in a tasty treat. Then, on the other hand, I have foxes who won’t even show interest in treats WITHOUT meds hidden in them (*cough cough* sassy girls Lulu and Cleo, and also our shy girl Kaya - sometimes others depending on their moods). For those that won’t take an oral preventative, I have to apply meds topically.

Since our quiet, passive girl Kaya falls under the “I don’t care for treats” category, she gets topical preventatives, and thus, here’s a rare photo of her beautiful self being held. 😉
