It's a simple home kitchen restaurant, tea corner you can have cooking lessons or participate preparing your own food in Zizi's kitchen, run by a small family which provides ethical dishes in western taste with Zizi's touch. The

kitchen supports the local villagers surviving by farming and from farming products locally, uses clean fresh vegetables and water to cook and clean vegetables and dishes, also serve clean water from Yangon to drink. Welcoming travelers to share their concern, positive knowledge helpful experiences and useful messages to our young generation in communities, to be a hand for moving Myanmar towards better future through the positive change. You can get home made paste and different simple, fresh, hygienic and healthy dishes. Drinks and Fresh Juice are available. The meals will be freshly prepared and made according to your preference.

Our Story

Paw Paw Restaurant is a self-funded family run home kitchen restaurant and community development project aiming to assist marginalized young women from remote areas of Myanmar for their individualized development.

History

2016: when we travelled to Nyawn Shwe during my first trip to Inle lake, the diversity of the nature, culture and fresh air with simple smiles embraced us and spoke to our heart right away.

April 2016: we found a small old bamboo house in Nyawn Shwe and decided to open a small home kitchen restaurant promoting a simple way of life and a return to traditionnal cooking and culture.

June 2016: we founded individualized development programs for young women in need coming from remote villages with limited resources during we run our business.

June 2017: we started the school refunding program for young working women involved in our projects.

2018: we are looking forward to getting some help to develop our work and be able to support better the community.

2019: we are proud to see a young woman that we supported for two years of study expenses had completed her university study. She now is becoming the manager of our business and grown up. We have worked with more than 30 young girls and women throughout our program.

Our Philosophy

Being kind to the unkind is the best way to spread kindness.

We try to contribute in the changing mindset process by supporting women in need and think on how make the world a better place for them. Not much of relief but lots to do with unwritten educational activities to drive our women into independency.

Our goal is to empower young women in becoming responsible citizens and encourage their professional growth. All our team come from different remote communities in the whole region.

As a result, the individual development of our young women is linked closely to wider community growth within remote villages. Not always easy and simple to help in under developed communities as we are dealing with full of limitations and resources.

We greatly value any assistance you might be able to give us along with any feedback on how we can improve our services.
