I am making these cuddle dolls in aid of the charity I work so hard for, The Ukrainian Refugees in Malta. These works, a truly labour of love, are catching Europe by surprise, and I am now creating them for our babies and children in Malta, too :). They are wonderful sleeping buddies!
Please adopt Lilac Lucas. It took so much thought, time & love to adapt the design & crate him 🙏. It would make a beautiful baby shower, christening, or birthday gift for a lucky baby.

Dear friends, there are various appeals, by many individuals going around to help the Syrian and Turkish earthquake victims. This is truly laudable. We Maltese have huge hearts.
Some were asking for "old" clothes. If you have to donate, please give new or near-new items, because you have no idea what we find when we open bags full of clothes to sort out.
This is from years and years of experience in this field. Please donate, NEW or near new, clothes or give cash to the official channels, if possible. If you are unable to do so, please pass or give food, or other items you can afford. Nothing is better than rubbish. I don't mean this in an offensive way, but read on.
Case in point: SOS albania in the '90's. We volunteers open the next bag full of clothes, ready to sort. First of all, the stench that came out of it, was unbearable. But surprise of surprises, we found a pair of trousers coming from... get ready, for it... The Boer War! Luckily we removed the buttons on the fly, I said, "They could be worth something"! Would you believe it? These buttons were fortunately put into an auction and went for a handsome amount of money, which was in turn used to pay for logistics. I can never forget the smell of those pants though. 😆 🤣
In conclusion: please, no old stuff. Let's respect the dignity of these unfortunate people. These victims lost everything, so let's join hands in doing this, together and help out the proper way.

Dear friends, this morning a very patronising lady went to Stella Maris Ukranian Refugees Centre. She got a young boy to drop of a few bags of clothes and when the volunteer very politely stated that they are full of clothes, she made a scene in the street shouting "never again"! The volunteer was very apologetic, but sincerely stated there is simply, physically, no more room for clothes.
To add insult to injury, she went on a post on the Ukrainian Refugees in Malta page and had a go at them there, stating that some of the clothes were "with tags" (which by the way was her chouce not to wear them). How blooming patronising and arrogant. Stating, on their page the "never again", as though inciting others to never help again. Bad, bad, idea and bad, bad timing, now that there is a SUPER URGENT NEED FOR FOOD!
Some 70 families visit the centres for food every day, and with the war becoming more vicious, as you all can see from the news, more and more people are leaving their bombshells homes coming here, every single
day. Three ladies are heavily pregnant running away with young children in tow.
So yes! They need food.
They have a houseful of clothes, but no food. Get it lady? No food.
And yes, please, if you are such a touchy person, who took umbrage at a very polite refusal of your spring cleaning, then take it elsewhere and refrain from using social media to vent. It can be very harmful to these vulnerable people. Other people have very nicely accepted their kind refusal. Some even came back with boxes of food.
There is no place for childish umbrage in helping others. We need to be strong. We need to pull our socks up, to beg for help, to dedicate hours of work and use all God gave us to be of use to those in need, to the suffering, that we may somehow alleviate their pain and reinstall some semblance of dignity they lose in these appalling situations.

Dear friends and benefactors to the Humanitarian Aid for Ukrainian Refugees in Malta. The need arose for laundry and home detergents. I have just finished orders for bothTa' Xbiex and Stella Maris centres to the value of nearly €600. I now have only €100 left which I will keep aside in the hope it accumulates a bit and will use it for personal care products, like shampoo, shower gels, conditioners and also baby wash, etc.
I will post pictures of goods & relative invoices for your perusal. I know, I know you always tell me I don't need to, :) but I feel better that way. Although your generosity is immense, I beg you to please not forget us these days.

Your monetary donations for the Ukrainian Refugees bought this this week! Thank you dear friends, on their behalf. As soon as I dort out delivery of an almost new fridge-freezer kindly donated by my daughter & her husband, I will start buying meat, vegetables, dairy & fresh food, especially for those little ones to have a varied diet. They've been eating preserved food too long!
